SO GOOD to see this team competing so well!! And, well, to HEAR the student section making themselves HEARD! When I was a student, few folks got loud at Stegman, even in spite of the amazing “HUMAN HIGHLIGHT FILM!” Yes, I know we’re a football school, but there’s also room for basketball greatness, and home court fans really matter! So, GO, HOOP DAWGS, and GET LOUD Bulldog Nation…!!
Was there in the day of 'Nique, myself. Sat right down on the edge of the court, literally on the floor with a little 35mm automatic camera in my hand, pretending to be a photographer (but just a goofy student)... nobody asked or bothered me while Charles Barkley, Mel Turpin, and other greats in that day came flying by. Go Dawgs!
I remember when Stegman was simply know as The Coliseum back in the Durham days. And the Tub during the brief but brilliant Smith era. It can definitely be a true home court advantage. Although we absolutely need to build a new arena to show our commitment to the basketball program. But all in due time.
