Now we've just gotta figure out who's going be throwing the pigskin to these guys next season...should be fun to watch THAT play out.
By the individual points on On3's composite score, Talyn (love that name) is our highest rated WR recruit since Rosemy-Jacksaint in 2020. By rank among WRs, Talyn is our highest since Pickens in 2019.
What really bodes well for this class is the potential for quality and depth. Talyn, Travis Smith and CJ Wiley are the ninth, 11th and 13th ranks receivers (again On3 composite). On3 gives GA a 94 percent chance to sign Smith and an 82 percent chance to snag Wiley.
Sarkasian is favored to sign the #1, #3, #4 and #16 WRs (none yet signed). No other team has more than two of the top 20 WRs. Not OSU. Not LSU. Not USC. Just Texas and Georgia.
Obviously, we can't count players before they sign on the dotted (or in Buford HS's case, until they actually arive on campus). Plus, the performance of WRs in the college ranks seems more difficult to scout than most other positions.
But that's just it: If we bring in three highly ranked WRs, we're more than likely to see at least one who turns out to be really special. And, with the exception of injuries, the top 20 WRs in any class seldom are flameouts.
(High-ranked players are only doomed to flameout in one situation: When they're defensive guys who decide to go to LA to play for Lincoln Riley! 😉)
