Gurley would have won the heisman that year. No way of knowing how Georgia’s season would have been different or even how it would have affected the future of Georgia football.
At his best, one of the very best ever!
I live in Boston and in 2014 my wife and I made the trip to Jacksonville for the Georgia-Florida game. I was looking forward to it mainly for the chance to see Gurley in person. I thought he was the best offensive player the Dawgs had since Herschel. And then that **** suspension happened! I closely followed the news of appeals and possible suspension reductions, but was ultimately disappointed. And then to compound my frustration, Georgia got inexplicably steamrolled by Florida. I think back to that often when I see what college players are now allowed to do.
Ah yes, 2014. One of those many "what if" years for UGA. Love Todd Gurley. Many Dawg fans forget — or may not even know — that he signed with Georgia as a throw-in with Keith Marshall. He just came to tag along but quickly surpassed Marshall, who just kept getting injured.
