Mykel Williams could address biggest need on Georgia football defense

What I've read this off-season on Mykel Williams and his evolution of not only play on the gridiron but leadership off of it is incredibly encouraging. I can't wait to see it come together. Go Dawgs!
“ESPN recently cited the Dawgs pass rush as the area needing the most improvement after Georgia registered only 30 sacks in 2023, ranking ninth in the SEC in that category.”
I don’t disagree, but I believe it can partly be attributed to the respect they are given by the opposing OC’s. It seems like part of the offensive strategy is to get the ball out very quickly when facing this Dawgs defense. If that’s truly the case, then our pass rush is having an impact on their play calling, and it helps the secondary in coverage because it reduces the amount of coverage time. When the opposing offense’s game plan includes trimming a second or two off the pass rush, it also trims that same amount of time for their receivers to get open.
GO DAWGS!
Mykel played hurt last year. He is healthy right now. Stack had too many reps as did Brinson because we did not have experienced quality depth behind them (a bunch of high rated freshman, but they were freshman and were not strong enough, in shape enough, or knew how to do the stunts/twists and techniquest to be effective). I'm talking about Hall and Jah. We also were counting on TID and he was injured. So a down year, an abnomally. This year we will have a big jump in production and Stack and Brinson can give us better quality per rep especially late in the games because they will not be exhausted.
Will be a huge jump this year. If you want proof, look at how the DL performed against the OL in the spring game. Remember our OL is the best in the country and they are beasts. We will be a top 3 DL this year. Also do not sleep on Jospeh Jonah Ajonye to give us some quality reps backing up Mykel.
Good post BigDawg888. Go Dawgs!
