Well done, Bill. As an Athens resident of 57 years, your review is on the mark. In regard to Michael Stipe, though I never said a word to him, he proved quite warm with his smile when eye contact was made.
FAN…tastic article! Very informative! Now, I have a side mission. Time to rediscover Athens. I know it's changed, since I was there, last...but, what hasn't?. Lol
Great article and pictures Bill. Athens is a special town. Thanks for bringing back many memories from being in college there!
Another great one Bill! I was also born in Athens, at Athens General Hospital in 1962. I attended Athens schools, from elementary school, through high school . I still love Athens, even though it's changed quite a bit from my memories of growing up there. It has always been, and still is, a great college town, with a lot more to offer than just football..GoDAWGS!
I missed this one when it was published, but enjoyed reading it today.
I was born in Athens and graduated from the University as did my father and my daughter. Thanks for highlighting some of what makes the town great.
Go, Dawgs!
