99%! Not even real if you’re at 99%. Tells me Georgia players actually have to go to school & take hard classes. Apparently not so at Clemson. (Also, not sure the grad rates account for early NFL departures, transfers, etc.)
Even for a regular student’s degree, I’d personally rather mine came from a place where 60% didn’t make it.
You know who talks about academics? A team that loses.

The devil is in the details. How is the rate calculated? Do transfers who leave count as non-graduated? How about those who go pro a year early? How about those who are released because of conduct? Many other variables out there. I don't think their play by play guy did their team any favors with that comment.

Well stated. When I have read about the 41% stat I have thought the exact same thing. IDK how it is computed. It would be nice to know what makes up that 41% #.
I do know that UGA is always a young team. Players get recruited over every year and many transfer out. The good one's that stay often leave for the NFL after 3 seasons or before graduation. That has to effect the graduation rate.
You want an eye opening stat about UGA recruiting? Go back on each class and look at how many players, from each class, transferred out. Since the '20 class (excluding '24) UGA has signed 101 HS recruits and had 40 of those same HS recruits leave the program through transfer. They also had a player dismissed from the team (DDS) and one player pass away (RIP Devon). That is 40% eliminated from graduation before any of the early draftee's are accounted for.
"last among FBS schools" is not a good place to be. But it would be interesting to see how the numbers are calculated. .

Connor I'm surprised you didn't point out that players who transfer out are deemed as non graduates regardless of what they do at the School they transferred to. Smart stockpiles great players and many of the transfer to a school where they are most likely to get significant playing time.So you add up those transfers and the ones who leave the program early for the NFL draft (i.e. Brock Bowers) then you end up with a low graduation rate.
67 transfers out plus 50+ into the NFL cover the past 4 cycles, not defending 41% but truthfully I am surprised it’s that high

Academics aren’t in the equation anymore because the players are in charge. NIL, the transfer portal, opting out=quitting. They don’t take in account how many players left for the NFL before they finished their education. I bet that guy wouldn’t say that if he wasn’t behind a microphone
