Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Mykel Williams did not make it all the way through his season debut on Saturday against Clemson.

Put them on opposites of the line and tell them to meet at the QB.
If the defense can get healthy and stay healthy they could be as disruptive as the 2021 defense.
Gonna say this, Phil Mafah is a dirty player. That was a purposeful chop block. I have no respect for Mafah or Clemson coaching. They got what they deserved…a whuppin'.
I love Mykel but I don’t think it was a dirty play. I guess it’s not legal now ? 5 years ago that was a good block. Football is violent. Honestly we could rest Mykel until Sept 28. That’s when we will need the big fella
@PlateauDawg That play has NEVER been “legal” (for players lined up at the line of scrimmage) unless you are directly aligned with the player at the beginning of the play. If it was, you’d see players dropping like flies on the LOS because a player from outside your line of site would be allowed to dive at your knees or anywhere below the waist.
That isn’t football, that is just dirty.
Now if Mafah had stepped in to his chest or right at his waist or even a shoulder? Totally legal. But that isn’t what happened.
If a player is lined up across from you before or after a snap, then you know they could go down and do a “submarine” block, which is the football term used and coached at most levels. And it is legal because the way to counter that is just step or jump over the player because you see it coming-you are engaged.
JUst be ready for BAMA!
