Sad news from the Hockey world. A funeral was held today for brothers Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau. Both widows giving very tearful tributes. They were killed in a cycling accident by a suspected drunk driver on August 29th.
Johnny played for the Calgary Flames and the last two seasons with the Columbus Blue Jackets. He was selected to the all-star game in his rookie season and named to the all-rookie team. His brother Matt played in the ECHL.
An incredibly close-knit family and community of Salem, New Jersey.
Prayers to their family, friends, and loved ones.
Rest in Peace Johnny and Matthew.

This story has really captured my and my wife's interest…just how sad it is.
We love watching hockey together.
We introduced my sister to hockey and she's taken off with it…traveling to away games, and she says hockey fans and some teams are like a family.
His widow announced that she is 9 weeks pregnant with their 3rd child, and that just makes it even more affecting! I can't imagine having to raise a child alone.
Such heartbreaking news. My thoughts are with their family, friends, and the whole community. It’s always devastating when such promising lives are cut short. RIP.
