At this point the Dawgs are a top ten team but probably in the second tier. Way overrated. We lost some key players from last year's team, some game breakers. So we are. young in some spots. and need to gain more experience. Overall we are a very good team but there are others out there that are just as good if not better. All in all we should still have a pretty good year. Unless something changes dramatically we probably won't be in the National Championship picture. Go Dawgs!

Yep I'm pleased. We do a lot better when we are hungry and Texas clearly deserves to take the #1 spot... For now. I'm very excited we have an off week and can regroup and get our fire up.

    @JBMDawg46

I think Kirby is psyching Bobo out

I hope we’re the underdog in 2 weeks.

I think when the coaches and players watch the tape, they both will be a bit embarrassed of how that game played out. They were whooped on both lines of scrimmage and seemed out of sorts all night with play calling and real time adjustments. Even with a few players injured, the talent level is still lopsided and should have been enough to win this game decisively. All said, I expect there will be a much better effort in two weeks.

I don't care about the ranking. I care about the team played which was not very good ofensively. Beck to me was a disappointment and the play calling was not much better.

Maybe the offensive woes come down simply to what Pollack said yesterday…and I don't think he's far off the mark:

" I see a lot of very good players for Georgia, but I don't see a lot of great"

Great was Bowers, McConkey. We don't have those kind of guys any longer.

Do we have to have playmakers like that to get to the playoffs?

We'll see. Finally get to the meat of the schedule in 2 weeks.

LAst night I realized that we just have 2nd tier receivers. It pains me to say that. Brock Bowers compensated for that last year. HIs departure has left us exposed. THere is no TE we have who is even remotely capable of replacing him from a pass catching aspect. None of our receivers that have played last year and are still playing this year will ever get drafted in the top 3 rounds IMO. THat's not to say they're bad, they arent. THey are serviceable, as in Kearis Jackson, or Rosemy Jack-saint, but none are remarakble. It's sad becasue I watch BAMA, Ole MIss, Texas, Tenn all have these tall, fast, lanky receivers who can go get it and get open and we rarely have those kind of guys. Pickens was an exception. Ladd was a 3 star who trurned out to be a diamond in the rough, but he was undersized and he wasn't a deep threat per se. Either KY has the best cover CB's in the SEC (I don't believe that's true) or we have a terrible OC and/or mid tier receivers. Such an eye opener.

If CB keeps going the way he went last night, he made a mistake not coming out last year. He looked timid and unsure of himself last night. How many TE catches this year compared to the same time last season? Yikes!

“….Like 2-3 times in a row up the gut for no gain! Bobo is the drive killer.”

Can’t disagree. But our guys could not control the line to sustain drives. Matter of fact, UK penetrated to the point where our backs had nowhere to run and Beck was running around for his life; could have gotten hurt. No time in the pocket at all.
I think for the next two wks our OL/DL needs to be run hard, and hit the gym in a serious way, and bulk up for next year.

Bama looked mediocre for 3 qtrs against S. Fla. until they wore them out. Nobody blows out teams every week. Instead of whining about winning by a point, we should be in disbelief over the fact we've won 42 regular season games in a row.

Polls mean nothing. Nobody should care. Polls are a media creation to upset fan bases so they'll keep reading g the garbage the media puts out there.

Saying we are a second tier team is just plain ridiculous. Everyone was riding high on the team two days ago. We have a less than stellar game, which, as Kirby pointed out, we have done the past few years on the first road game, and now you people think we are overrated. Give me a break.

We went into a hostile environment against a team on a mission, who was embarrassed the week prior because they were looking past USC to us and they were dead on fired up. Yes, we could have played better and had better plays called but stating we are overrated is just silly.

back to work. Focus on improvement and the outside noise won’t matter!

I have to agree with those who feels Kirby pays too much respect to teams like KY on the road. The team plays scared as a result. The goal should be to put the game away early to avoid injuries to front line players.

With regards to the offense, the lack of consistent play from the WR’s was disappointing. I also question why Humphrey has disappeared from the rotation.

Finally, I think we’ve seen the last of Yurosik as a blocking TE. He just isn’t prepared for that role in the SEC. Dell is positioning himself for less playing time as well.

Before Todd Monken, Kirby was Mark Richt. After Todd Monken, Kirby is Mark Richt. Kirby will have the best defense, but Bobo is predictable and bland. Get ready for UGA football where we lose 1 or 2 games a year. We will lose to Bama in two weeks.
