Georgia offense find rock bottom in loss to Ole Miss: ‘We’re not a point-the-finger type of team’
OXFORD, Ms. — Georgia’s offense has been taking on water for a while in terms of performance. With rain pouring down all Saturday afternoon, it sunk to a new low.
Comments
I’ll point some fingers, let’s take 84 off the field…he sucks. Get Luckie more involved in the game plan instead. Remove Greene II off the field, he has been a liability all season. Lastly, let’s stop with all these WR screens, they ain’t it
Lol. Can we some pep on the offense. People look bored. If you want to run that offense might as well put a fullback in for extra blocking and occasionally handoff.
I miss monkin
You don't have to point fingers, but you have to make changes. If you aren't willing to make those changes you will fail. Period.
only finger pointing needs to be Bobo and his lackluster play calling.
Dawg fans, you should have seen this coming, this is not very surprising to me, and I have been accused of being as die hard as they get.
It is what it is.
Keep my head up, worry about the next big one against UT, and then the next big one against the insects.
We do not have a great team this season, and they lost too much to the draft and transfer portal.
But that was a helluva win AT TEXAS, and they beat the brakes off a top 20 ranked Clemson, too!
Hopefully the Dawgs will finish on a high note, 3-0, and can have some momentum for the end of December!
The wide receiver screen is a extension of the run game when it is not working. If you have weak blocking on the outside with those screens they are ineffective. Just like a running back screen. Blocking for the offensive has been terrible from the start of the season.Just like the inconsistent play of the defense.
…"But, you know, we just got to be explosive and someone’s got to step up and make a play whenever we’re not able to run the ball comfortably.”
Very disturbing & telling comments from someone in THE top leadership position of a team.
Georgia players and coaches are now like a bottle of shampoo directions….Rinse Repeat
UGA did put Oscar Delp in to help end around blocking!! Amazing. UGA is as banged up as I have ever seen them but still no excuses. They beat Texas….? They beat Clemson..? Beat Florida? Now, poof, two losses and looking like a third one vs Tennessee…maybe a 4th vs Tech? No playoff again. Coaching is mostly at the root. Bobo is really too predictable. Kirby is not taking charge and making hard decisions. Too much family loyalty with Bobo. This is very big business not family affair. Kirby's team has been steadily declining. Like chaos out there… unlike disciplined Kirby football of 21 and 22. Ole Miss built its team on the portal…they admit it Works for me. This UGA team is not elite.
Beck has clearly already clocked out. Why I have no idea? At this rate he won't get drafted. It's one thing to have the yips, but Beck simply doesn't care. That smile on the sideline…OMG really? He just doesn't have IT and it's a mystery why Kirby keeps defending him. Bama bouncing back and looking good at LSU. Ole Miss peaking. Before long UGA is going to be in 6th place in the SEC. Forget the SEC Championship. Kirby needs to quit harping on how hard the conference is. Winners win Kirby. The constant drone of your coach speak tells me you have no idea what to do. Here's a clue: Make Bobo and analyst and hire a real OC. Make Schumann linebackers coach and bring Muschamp back at all costs. Fire that retread Searels. Hire a receivers coach who can teach the #1 thing which is CATCH THE BALL! Lastly the secondary…I don't know where to start with that I'll admit.
Our O-line may be the most disappointing unit this season. We have never been able to establish the run, and they got destroyed in pass blocking today. This was possibly the most heralded unit coming into the season, and are nowhere close to performing to their star ratings. I have to point at coaching.
unrelated question, how’s it looking for Pittman in Arkansas and does anyone know his interest in possibly taking a step down job?
Right now UGA should be out of the top 5. Much lower in fact. This is a mediocre team at best that may not make the playoff…again two years in a row. Georgia AD is not gonna like this. They are spending hundreds of millions of dollars to field winners and champions. I see many commits reversing their commitments. not a good look for Kirby.
@Breathofj That's an interesting point. Sam is beloved here in UGA. The players loved him. But his buyout might allow him to retire as well.
Time to hire Hines Ward as receivers coach after hiring a new OC in the offseason.
