Kirby Smart gives first thoughts on Julian Humphrey following transfer portal announcement
ATHENS — Georgia head coach Kirby Smart declined to say whether cornerback Julian Humphrey was still with the team on Sunday and what his status for the game against Texas would be.

I kind of expected that after the mysterious disappearance for the last few weeks. He has definitely regressed this year and a big disappointment. But during his absence in the last few weeks, our passing defense hasn't really done that well.
If he is officially entering the portal, leave him behind for the SECCG. That will give him extra time to decide on a new school..GoDAWGS!
Man, announcing before the TP even opens and in advance of the SEC-CG... talk about lack of concern /respect for your teammates. Oh, well...
UGA has taken more team hits (injuries, defections, off-field losses, etc.) than ANY team that has post-season prospects that I can recall in my CFB watching history. The fact the Dawgs are 10-2 with this kind of drama AND an unusually difficult schedule is actually pretty amazing... if we win next Saturday, I will be blown away.
Fingers crossed for this resilient group!
The pure definition of a quitter is a member of a TEAM who during the season while pursuing championships announces his or her departure from said team
See ya loser.
good luck young man
I wonder if they want to post the stats about how many pi’s and times he’s been burnt by opposing wrs also.
this departure is a good thing for our secondary. Anyone who would abandon their teammates at this time of the season has no place on a team.
Proverbs tells us that if remove the trouble maker, conflicts will depart as well. (22:10)
go dawgs!
He got torched against Alabama. Then gave up a huge play against Tennessee. That's when he got benched in favor of Harris. He's a professional athlete in a performance business, it is better for sides for him to move on.
hate it but gotta get him out of the locker room asap
Sounds like Daniel Harris earned playing time due to work ethic in practice and Humphrey couldn't handle it.
" Anyone who would abandon their teammates at this time of the season has no place on a team." Vetdawg, you just hit the nail square on the head and it's gone right through the board……It was apparent from his play that being a part of a TEAM was not embraced by Julian….I wish you well Julian, but you might need to search your heart….that's where "the man" is.
“First and foremost I would like to thank the man above for everything he has done for me, and I will forever be grateful for everything"____Humphrey
Lol....When did the players start referring to Kirby Smart as "The Man Above"? After Saban retired? 😂🤣
II wouldn't take him to Atlanta, for a number of reasons. The biggest reason being, I wouldn't trust him [and, neither would the team] and he would take up a valuable roster spot that could be filled by a more valuable player, that I DO trust.
Bye.
