It will be a tough film review session for Georgia coach Kirby after the Bulldogs’ 23-10 loss to Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl CFP semifinal on Thursday night.

The penalty on the kid bumping the ref was pathetic. Kevin Butler said he’s been on the sidelines his entire career and bumped into refs all the time, but was NEVER flagged for it. The ref told the coach that’s the warning. That’s what should have happened tonight. That kid won’t be on the team next season, but, another point from Butler, the ref was too far on the other side of the white sideline. The head ref should have conferred with him and suggested a warning. That cost Georgia points. Never should have happened by the kid or a penalty flag thrown by the ref.
11-3 and challenging schedule, cannot be overlooked. Congratulations. This team would not quit but it was evident that there are positions, OL, RBs and receivers that did not play at the same level as previous years. Overall the offensive game plan and play calling was problematic. Too predictable. Way too much dependence upon plays on the periphery. The OL had great problems opening running lanes for the backs. The OL had great difficulty protecting the QB. Hopefully there will be some changes on the coaching level as well as importing some help at the needed positions.
I’m disappointed but not surprised by the outcome. UGA had to run the ball and play mistake free; they did neither. ND exposed the offensive line weaknesses we’ve seen all year. I don’t have a problem with the play calling because if they don’t block, it doesn’t matter what you call. The good news is that they have their QB for next year. Now we just need three Olinemen and a couple of receivers.
I guess fat and slow isn't the way to go! I see post below about the rugged sec schedule. Plu-eeze stop, the SEC after the post season dust settled, looked average. Hate to say it, those northern teams look better. No reloading, just rebuilding. CKS has a number of areas of concern IMO. Sorry I see 3-4 losses next year to (i'll take my thumbs down LOL)
