Definitely some improvements have been made, but they’re not there yet.
Ahem, to quote my own comment from before the game: "It'll be a challenge to keep up with that quick little point guard at Tennessee and to match their experienced teamplay." ðŸ˜
I wish I'd been wrong. Our guards could have played more aware of Zeigler's speed; he's that guy you don't want to play if you're going to create turnover opportunities for the other team. But simply from a skill stand point, we don't have the ballhandlers or quickness to match a guy like that.
Plus we seemed to get rattled in their house.
Great learning opportunity. I particularly liked how hard Newell worked to keep us in the game. We need to run more stuff through him, IMO. He seems ready for it.
