Yesterday was a good sports day in Dawg land. Not only did the men's hoops surely secure a dance invitation, but the boys and girls took care of business on the diamond. Go Dawgs!
Hey, I totally understand the level of competition that the BBall Dawgs have faced. Heck, I think the same scheduling guys got together and wickedly scheduled both the '24 football and '25 basketball teams at the same time - both with very hard schedules! My main complaint during our losing streaks in basketball has been the WAY the team played game after game. Just sloppy, unfocused, and the defense was playing horribly. Foul shooting was abysmal. Tons of turnovers. THAT's what irritated me the most. Play good, solid basketball and if you lose then fine. But don't keep beating yourselves. I've said the same thing during football season.
All that play has improved since our week off. We just can't get into that "funk" again for the remaining season and Madness.
I see your point of no “bad” losses and it’s great that they have just about locked up a bid, but let’s be honest. They should have NOT lost to Arkansas on the road and they never had a snowball’s chance of beating any ranked teams on the road. White has made progress each season and they probably will go to the big dance, but let’s stop short of saying that Georgia basketball has turned the corner. Let’s see what happens next season before that statement is made. Go Dawgs!
This is crazy…..just 2 weeks ago in an article following our last loss, every and I mean EVERY blogger on this site wanted Mike White fired and laughed at any possibility of making it to the “big dance”. Now, just 4 games later he’s the talk of the town. Go Dawgs and ya gotta believe!!!
Thanks MontanaDawg! You saved me the trouble of writing the same, long reason why I was so frustrated with this BB team this season. Go Dawgs!
@MontanaDawg You are right on point. It wasn’t that they lost is was how…just bad fundamental basketball. Cost them Ark & Miss Sr games. But this team deserves a lot of credit for not quitting. And White & staff did make some good adjustments…more motion on offense being one. It’s been fun to watch. Let’s keep it going
All of you beat me to the punch!! I guess we can put away the rope and ladder now.
