Just keep them away from the DODGE dealership and this group of WRs can be something special.
We didn't have possession receivers last year after we lost Colbie Young, who is back and looking good. Noah Thomas and CJ Wyley standing next to Colbie make an impressive group of big, tall receivers. Between them, there will be guys who can go up and get the ball in a clutch situation.
This is positive news. A step in the right direction. As KS said not only do I want to see more yds. after tackle, but I want to see more effort vs. the defender on contested passes.
And more effort when the pass is off target some. I guess what I’m trying to say is fearless receiving. Going after the ball and Catching it even when you know the defender is gonna rack your ribcage. Or climbing high up the ladder to make the catch even when you know you’re gonna hit the ground really hard. That kind of courage and effort is the difference between a pretty good receiver and a Great receiver
. And we Have had some over the years like that at UGA. The first one that just popped into my aged mind is Terrence Edwards !! On a side note we have fine TEs that I believe are gonna help us Big !! Go Dawgs !!
Along with the WR group, we may arguably have the best TE room in the country...yet Bobo hardly used Luckie or Delp much last season. The proof will be in the pudding...(36)+ dropped passes doesn't look good...gotta see some major improvements there, but I am optimistic.
We have height, we have speed, and we have a fairly good amount of experience—I think this group has a chance to be really good. Now if we can get some decent pass protection and some accuracy from our QB, we'll be on the road to a very successful season.
