I hate to say it but anything with cars for a an NIL athlete should be a one and done at this point. Kid is in a Challenger that even pro drives have a hard time controlling and he is speeding. Then exits the car without putting it in park during a traffic stop? Where is this kids head? Where is his dedication to the team and his teammates?

The Athletic Dept should buy a beat up POC pink Prius. Anyone with a traffic violation is only allowed to drive it. There'll be a sign-up sheet telling what time it will be picked up, destination, and time returning. Good behavior and following the policy will slowly return privileges, but not with a muscle car or sports car. Those are only allowed for Seniors.

Was his sobriety checked? He might have gotten a big break from the cops.

I still think running stairs and having to wait tables in the dining hall would be appropriate, among other corrections.

Many of us on this board have said in the past that the only way this will stop is when CKS is proactive about drumming someone out once something egregious pops up… well, this is egregious

That said, if Kirby can't even get some of the kids (I no longer use the term young men anymore… the times are a changin') to accept "hard coaching" then what is the likely response from the team…? Likely not good :(

I do not envy CKS right now 😒

As long as scruples are sacrificed at the altar of winning, DO NOT be surprised by what happens. Period.

@Chief ACCPD hasn’t given UGA players (or students for that matter) a break since the Dooley era. I can assure you if he wasn’t sober as a judge he would have been charged accordingly. In most sec towns these things are swept under the rug. Doesn’t mean it’s not dangerous…just the reason why you don’t see the same stories coming out of Tuscaloosa or Baton Rouge.

@PlateauDawg I am born and raised Athens with a few degrees from UGA as well. I have done **** things in my time here, but have never been arrested by the police. It is not the police (and I don't like policeman in general), it is the person doing the wrong thing. The football players need to be humble and hardworking with focus. Incidents like these tell me some (definitely not all) think they are God's gift to Athens. No excuses. Take responsibility for your actions.

Not gonna lie, I have done over 100 mph when I was roughly his age. I can't call the kid names or criticize because yeah, I did it, also. Actually, I had no idea I was traveling that fast until I noticed how fast the trees were passing me when I looked to the side and then at the speedometer (Surprise!). It was an Oldsmobile Starfire, which was a really smooth riding car and sneaky fast.
Sure, we'd like it to stop but probably every one of us on here has done the same, or close, when they were this age. Just because I wasn't arrested doesn't mean I didn't do it.

I was also a good student with a job so yeah, even good kids without NIL money do things

Right! That's what I've been saying...but, for some reason, the reporters that write these stories, are no more curious than a CNN or MSNBC reporter. It's not about the truth...it's about the narrative.

The entire team, wasn't in the car with Tuggle. It was only, Tuggle himself, that bares the blame and the consequences. END OF STORY.

Go Dawgs. The UGA Baseball Team, is unreal, this year. Awesome Bat's! Lol

NIL $$ getting them into high-end cars that most kids can't afford at their age. Young-and-dumb and extremely fast cars don't mix well.

@natejaws With your degrees from UGA I would have hoped for better reading comprehension.

Anybody read about the pretty "UGA Sorority Girl" that went viral for her smiling booking picture. Lmao. She was caught speeding, twice within 2 minutes. Said, she was on the way to a Frat Patty in Metter, I think it was.

Give em credit...at least they have their priorities straight, up there in Athens. Football, Fast Cars and Parties. Lol...God Bless em.
