Smart provided more than a hint the first half of spring drills that these Bulldogs, collectively, weren’t meeting the “standard” that it takes to win a national championship.

Tough love: Until Smart purges his own coaching staff from his "Friends and Family" program, the football program will not be elite. We were elite unitl the talented coordinators and other elite asst coaches left for promotions. They were replaced with lesser coaches until now the entire coaching staff is no longer elite as an entity. Keeping Bobo and Searles is a big mistake. Big mistake. In addition, it looks like UGA isn't really willing to dole out the Benjamens to buy the elite playmakers. Yes, with NIL and TP you must buy them. Without elite playmakers, the squad is just a few tons of steaming junk…. I love Kirby Smart, but htis is business. He is being compensated richly for national champions. We are nowhere close today, and it will probably take 2-3 years to right the ship even if we get on the right trajectory…

Gunner is gonna Have to have help from the O Line and RBs. Thats the shaky news. The what Might be good news is Maybe we now have receivers that can get open and Catch the ball. KS seemed pretty high on that unit a couple weeks back. And then there’s also the TEs. Might have to hope for some defensive turn over scores along the way especially in the early competitive games. Go Dawgs !! Work Hard, then Harder, then Even Harder !! Listen, Learn, Work that helps build Elite !!

My Biggest problem with Georgia Football (and has been for a long, long time) has been the lack of adaptation. Georgia is the one school that seems to do WORSE after a bye week and play calling is often horrendous and overly predictable. You shouldn't become the team that has the most dropped passes in all of football - after it starts being a problem you should work on ways to FIX it. O-Line seems to go from amazing to poor to amazing. Why???

Unrelated, but I'm tired of Smart saying that "QB is like any other position". No, it's not. You can't say that when you rotate in every other position but QB. He values loyalty (which is why he makes excuses for his coaches) and while that's admirable, that's not how you get back to a "championship standard".

”It’s not a question of if Stockton can do his job — he can, to the extent if you were to surround him with the offensive talent the 2021 and 2022 teams enjoyed he could lead a title.”

    I would include 2023 there.

2024 is a toss up, but even the 2024 roster, with better player leadership top to bottom and a QB who had 1. game experience, 2. inspiring leadership, and 3. excellence under pressure might have won it all (and performed better all season). The 2024 team really never had all three at QB. The first QB factor was covered most of the season under Beck, but not the second two factors. Once Gunner took the helm, the team had factor number two (but not factor one), and as to factor three and Gunner the jury is still out… overall. 🤷‍♂️
