Wes Johnson was far from the first person in baseball history to recognize that great pitching almost always beats great hitting.
Even Bobby Cox and Leo Mazzone were "contemporary" repeaters of that old adage. Go Dawgs!
Maybe a dose of humble pie is what the team needs right about now, something to remind them they're in an elite league with teams every bit as good as they are… so better get buttoned down and dial in their focus with every pitch on both sides of the diamond, while not getting too tight or losing their moxie.
