Nussmeir will be replaced by Michael Nan Buren who transferred from Mississippi State as soon as he starts throwing balls into coverage. After watching him play against us - they scored 31 on our defense and he threw for 306 yards - I hoped Kirby might pursue him in portal. I hope Kirby’s to Gunner is rewarded, but I am in skeptic column currently.

Sellers and Lagway ahead of Nussmeier and Manning and Nico in the TN offense? I don't think so. Both Sellers and Lagway are very much a work in progress especially in their passing proficiency. Watch the numbers Manning, Nuss and Nico ring up this fall.

This season will come down to the offensive line and schemes. Gunner can do his part. He didn't miss Bell in the Notre Dame game - he hit him in stride. Not worried about the QB. O Line - very worried. Schemes - especially running schemes - very worried. Kirby plays a numbers game - Hold the other team to 25 pts or less, score more than 25 pts. Control the line of scrimmage. I feel like the D Line will hold up. I don't have the same feeling with our O line. They are young, not very strong, and they lack the 5 star talent. Add to that vanilla run schemes, lots of side to side action, and I'm not as hopeful as previous years.

I would put Diego over Nico by a long shot. I'd also drop Manning several spots until he proves his worth in a few games. Experience trumps talent in my book, and that's why Lagway, Sellers, and Nussmeier should be the Top 3.

Not trying to be a homer here but Gunner is going to have a coming out party this year. We actually have some elite receivers that can catch the ball…

I'm sorry, but Lagway was nothing special against us last year. He threw one good deep ball against busted coverage but, aside from that and before he got hurt, he was mediocre. I look forward to busting him up for a full game.

The stat's do not confirm your perception. Pavia's stats for completion % (59) or passing yards (2300) do not compare to Nico's (64, 2616) in a down year for the TN O. TN has better WR's (Remember 5* Mike Mathews?), better OL recruits (Remember 5* David Sanders?) and will be surrounded by better players across the board on offense. Pavia is a 5'10" run 1st QB. Nico is a 6'6" 5* passing athlete playing QB. No doubt he is the more dangerous QB in '25.

As for Manning, he will also be surrounded by elite players on offense. 2 5* and 5 4* WR's in the last 2 recruiting classes alone. He has been on campus for 3 springs in Sark's offense. His stats, playing part time, in 10 games last year are pretty impressive. Manning had 68% completion % (better than '24 CBeck) and almost 1000 yards passing. Manning's 10.4 Y/A in '24 was better than Ewers, CBeck, Pavia, Nico and Sellers. To this point Manning has more game experience than Stockton.

Sellers and Lagway will not have the OL or WR's at SC and FU that TX and TN will have. Heisman odds (people who take bets on what will happen) have Manning #1 and Nuss #2. Nico is #6 ahead of Sellers #7, Pavia #?, Lagway #10 and CBeck #11. .
