Asa Newell declares for NBA Draft following standout freshman season at Georgia

ESPNâs Jonathan Givony was the first to report the news, though it does not come as a surprise that Newell is headed to the NBA. He is consistently seen as a first-round draft prospect and delivered a strong first season in Athens.

Do we need to look for a basketball league that plays 3 on 3?
Form what I saw of Asa Newell He could have used another year of CBB. He was a good player but not a dominant player.
Asa has always handled himself with class and dignity on the court. He definitely looks like he could use another year of D1 level development to go first round but obviously he believes he will make more in the NBA than selling his soul to the highest bidder in the portal (yes, looking at you Carson Beck). Best of luck at the next level Mr. Newell and thank you for choosing the G. Your talent is undeniable.
The NBA drafts on potential & Asa’s is through the roof. He will be a 1st rounder & I wish him well. He gave us everything he had every game. Didn’t coast like a lot of one & dones(Anthony Edwards). Thanks Asa. DGD
Asa is very talented and shows potential but needs further development at the college level. I wish Asa nothing but the best, hope he goes to the league and puts up 20 and 10 on the regular.
I admit I only watch a few UGA basketball games. This kid is not ready for the pros, but he will get paid to develop and I guess that is the name of the game.
