2025 NFL Draft to highlight âa voidâ Georgia football will have on its offensive line

At least three and potentially four starters from last seasonâs team are going to be drafted into the NFL this weekend. Tate Ratledge and Jared Wilson are expected to go in the second or third round. Dylan Fairchild is likely to hear his name called in the late third or early fourth round.

"Instead, it’s another reminder of how talented Georgia’s offensive line was and why it’s all the more perplexing the unit couldn’t play to its vast potential."…….as they say down at the fire hall….you may have 670HP under the hood but if you ain't got a Bobby or Kyle orDale or Denny you ain't got a chance against scooter in a race to QT……LEADERSHIP, a Field Captain, a guy you will attempt to play every snap above your potential….even if you have that guy, if he's a "restrictor plate" Head Case, the Horses will never be hitten on every cylinder and as Kirby loves to say….."Humility is only a week away"…..thank the Good Lord The Dawgs got through the 24 season only to have engine failure come in the playoffs….I am increasingly thankful that The Dawgs have possibly a Richard or a Jimmy this season…only time will tell but early on you'll know by the play of our O-Line….I'm also thankful that Hanna wised up and put CB in his place…..maybe this shock will bring him back down to earth????
Everyone wants to assume that Freeling is the LT, but I believe there will be MUCH competition for that spot. Fall camp will be much different than spring ball was. Spring ball this year was as much about getting the many young pups up to speed as possible, but fall camp is going to be about weeding the garden. Bobo wants this line to be much improved, as does Searels with jobs on the line. Someone will surely step up. If the Dawgs can once again run the ball, and stop the run the way Kirby wants, then all will be well.
Sorry guys, but I just don’t have confidence in Searels. Yes indeed we have players headed to the NFL, but none were recruited by him. I feel like our OL has been on a major slide for the past 2-3 years since he arrived and I don’t think the recruiting is what we saw with Pittman and Luke. If we don’t see a massive improvement this year I pray Kirby will make a move. Go Dawgs!!!
BubbaBill, I'm with you. Searls has this year to get it done. I was hopeful when they brought in the O Line coach from the NFL, but I'm not sure how the dynamics of that work. I wish Bobo had brought in some Offensive ingenuity, but that didn't happen. I just remember what searls was like for Mark Richt, and now he's here generating the same results - almost last in rushing. Yet, they tell us that we have all these O lineman getting NFL interest. Seems obvious to me.
BubbaBill—I'm with you —I don't have any confidence in Searels either. I think Bobo will exceed our expectations, but I still worry about Greene and Freeling. I know they were both hyped coming out of High School, especially Freeling, but at times watching them play, they'd have defensive people coming around them like 8 year olds heading to an ice cream truck.
Fun Fact, South Carolina's Quarterback had more rushing yards than UGA's top running back.
dude!
I saw the article about all that drama yesterday and a quote I took away was,
“ nobody likes him anyways. He was always on his phone.”
I know it’s easy to blame things on one guy whether searles or Beck or Bobo. But mark my words, the dawgs line will be better this year because we got a Georgia boy at qb and a heck of a leader with heart. Any doubters of that go rewatch the next to last play of the seccg and the watch how that line blocked afterwards.
go dawgs!
“…it’s another reminder of how talented Georgia’s offensive line was and why it’s all the more perplexing the unit couldn’t play to its vast potential.”
Stop defending Searels. If it’s not a lack of talent, it’s coaching. Searels was mediocre under Richt and at UNC. It appears he still is. As the old saying goes, “The best indicator of what someone will do in the future is what they’ve done in the past.”
like 8 year olds heading to the ice cream truck - absolutely hilarious…
This must be the day the"vote down"guy visits Dawg Nation. Everybody be careful with your remarks!!!!
Didn’t the Dawgs hire a analyst that has been in the pros for the Offense ? Might that help some ? Like many of you I’m nervous about the O Line, allot of things really. BUT until they show me different I’m gonna Believe great things will happen for these Dawgs !! Trying to stay positive unless they give me a reason not to. Every year is different. Go Dawgs !!
