    @navydawg

    I feel your sadness brother. The purity, or innocense, however real or perceived, has been stripped away. Now it's just become about dollars and cents. JUst the hIghest bidder in the high profile cases or with transfer portal hopefuls now. I will come to your school and play for your team for x amount of dollars, not because that's my dream school I always wanted to play for, or the coach I wanted to coach me is there, or to play for a NC, or even because it's the school that offered me a scholarship and won my loyalty. It's sort of like when romance or love just turns and becomes a business proposition. I.E. Bill Belechick romance. If you know what I mean and I think you do. It just doesn't look right.

    Ohio St won the Natty last year because they spent the most and bought the best group of players. Not because of the coach or because of his recruiting skills, or because most of the better players just wanted to go there originally(without any NIL). Don't get me wrong they recruit well evey year and have for awhile and Day isn't a bad coach, but spending the most on NIL pulled them to the Natty. Contrast that with Michigans NC where a group of guys that could have moved on to either the NFL or other life venues wanted to come back and run it back like UGA did when Wyatt and Davis came back. For the love of school and the desire to get the Natty. Sadly, fo you and me and for College football the "good ole days " are gone.

    BUt we do have lots of good days yet to be seen and enjoyed in our not so far away futures, Capisce?

    You did a great job of articulating many of the things I was trying to say but failed at. We will always have our Great memories !! Sadly I don’t think the memories of this generation and the future will be nearly as grand. Still Go Dawgs !!

    Why are we chasing another 5-star QB? The past two or three we recruited didn't work out too well, did they ? Perhaps if we got a better OC we could recruit better quarterbacks, regardless of stars. I would not want to have to rely on Mike Bobo for my development if I were a 5-star QB…

    Curtis sounds like another Vandergriff. Bentley sounds like a SBIV kind of guy. Put my money on Bentley…

    We may very well end up Bentley. I think Curtis goes to the highest bidder or else he would have already committed to UGA. But I've been wrong before. As far as chasing 5 star QB's goes they usually, though now always, draw better players in with them. Do we need a 5star to win a Natty? Been there and done that, so no. Curtis, though,sure looks the part, like a Manning.
