Where Georgia football ranks in various Post-Spring Top 25s for 2025 season

ATHENS â Spring football is in the books and the transfer portal has opened and shut, giving us a much better idea of how teams will look entering the 2025 season.

IMHO, this season is the biggest question mark ever under Kirby. All I see is mostly young and inexperienced. SO many questions unanswered - especially on offense - from the OL to the RB room to the QB. Hoping the RB room gets healthy by September. I feel more confident in the defense and just waiting for one or two players from the front seven to step up and dominate. Very glad we've got our toughest games at HOME this year, and even more glad we have a couple of cupcakes to start the season (even though I do not like these kind of games).
Will the injury bug continue to bite the Dawgs this season? With less true experienced talent on the bench it could make a huge difference during the season.
Will Gunner Stockton shine or struggle?
I'm starting to realize that whichever team is playing its best football of the season entering the playoffs has a real advantage along with who has got the healthiest starting lineup. So, even if the Dawgs struggle early with lineups, injuries, or gelling as a team, we've got time to get our act together as long as we don't fall far behind.
I never doubt what Kirby can pull off, so I would put the Dawgs at #5. Certainly we are a Top 10 team. My top teams going into the season are Texas and Penn State.
Texas also lacks experience at the QB position. Little archie manning didn't see the field much last season to gain that valuable game time experience (yet everyone harps on Gunners lack of game experience). Yet manning is still seen as the top college QB by most of these experts.. simply because of his last name, nothing more. When arch did play against UGA, he did not impress me at all. He looked like an average college QB at best, against a supposedly weaker UGA defense from years past, according to those same experts..
@1SICemDAWGS1…yes, and how Manning plays will probably be the key to their season. Other than him though, their roster is elite and more experienced than the Dawgs. Penn State has got the experienced QB Drew Aller coming back, who has gotten better and more confident every season. He's not perfect and makes mistakes, but he's a great QB for their offense. They also have (2) Top 10 RBs coming back in Singleton and Allen. Both those guys can inflict damage and are elite RBs. Both can catch the ball as well. They have a good set of receivers and great lines of scrimmage. The setup Penn State has this season is similar to how it looked for Ohio State last season to some extent - a good experienced QB with (2) elite RBs. Penn State doesn't have the same elite WRs as OSU and lost the best TE in the country, but they are as good on paper this season as they have ever been. But honestly, Coach Franklin may be their Achilles Heel. It might be seen as a miracle if Franklin can pull off a Natty.
Texas OL was very suspect last season, and without the cushy schedule three regular season losses easily. I do not doubt that Penn State will be a tough out, Clemson being up there has to be because of weak ACC, they are not that good. Dawgs have as much or more than any of these teams. Bama will probably be better than some think, glad the Dawgs get them in Sanford early. Vegas has Dawgs at #3 in the odds for national championship, so there is that.
I agree with Penn State, they return and have a lot of talent on their roster to win the Big10, , and with a little luck, possibly a National Championship. OSU is due a down year, and Michigan is always a head scratcher (as is Penn St at times). Michigan may win 8 games, may win 11, never know about them. We'll know the answers before too long..
I’m Glad that most of the media is naysaying the Dawgs. Kirby is a master at installing a chip on his players shoulders, giving them the Desire to decimate rivals.
Yes there’s allot of youth spread across this Dawgs team but it’s not just youth, it’s Quality youth. And KS probably pushed these freshmen in the spring more than any class before. And he’ll continue to push them.
Gunner Stockton rides on a big IF, and that’s If the O Line can give him at least decent and Consistent protection. And WRs need to catch the clean passes and fight Harder for the contested ones.
I could be wrong and it sure wouldn’t be the first time, but if the O Line does their job and the WRs ( and TEs) do their Gunner is gonna make Allot of Dawgs fans very happy !! Go Dawgs !!
PS. Again IF the O Line does Their job I’ve got a feeling our RBs are really gonna surprise Dawgs fans in a good way !!
Penn State’s biggest problem is James Franklin.
