- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Snooze.
It's all about the O Line. If those second year players can make a move, Georgia will do fine. The line that played against ND, well they just couldn't get it done. After a year of questionable play. We look at these stars and think they really matter, 4 star or 5 star. Sometimes the recruiters are wrong. A lot more should be three stars until they distinguish themselves.
I'm sure I'm being a bit nit picky here, but can we stop comparing the TEs to Brock Bowers and perhaps compare them to those on the competition? That is somewhat like comparing every RB to Herschel or every LB to Roquan. Players like Bowers, are unicorns to a certain degree and while the current TEs (or likely any future ones) won't be equal to that comparison, they will certainly be equal and likely better than the competition. Love Bowers and all he did while at UGA, but it is definitely time to turn the page. Go DAWGS!
I'll echo….It's all about the O-Line….."What had been a perennial strength sagged to a clear weakness at the end of the 2024 season. And that was with three starters who became top-100 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft."….."sagged" being the optimal descriptor…..after all, against all odds, the Dawgs had just won the SECC…..in Kirby-ese…more difficult than winning a natty, they had prevailed over the #1 team in the country…twice, they had endured injury upon injury playing the toughest schedule in D-1, The Dawgs suffered the vicissitudes of an on again/off again QB, receiver corp, RB room, O-Line, secondary…and in the Sugar Bowl, met a less talented team but one that was inspired to play far beyond talent in securing a win at all cost…..basically, The Irish wanted it more……that game left a sour taste in my mouth as far as O-Line play…..BUT ALAS, the "Guys" on the bench saw the challenge laid down for the coming year….and given the level of talent, I'm with Cole and believe The Dawg O-Line will be the cream that rises the highest!
Even though I agree with much of what you are saying, it ain't gonna happen. Brock Bowers will forever be the standard. He earned that spot. It's practically illegal to talk about tight ends without talking about Brock's accomplishments, abilities, drive, and DGDness.
Go, Dawgs!
henddawg, I agree. I think bowers was a 4 star, and yet he turned out to be a once in a generation talent. Notre Dame wanted him as a linebacker. The talking heads didn't get it right. Until they play, it's hard to see what you've got. I certainly wouldn't pony up millions to get these kids on campus. I don't think we'll see another Brock for a good while.
Outside linebacker...my only real concern for this defense. Containing the EDGE last season was a problem and needs to be addressed.
There is reason to think there are enough players in the OL and DL rooms to get two deep, I think either Gibson or Linton will make a move as a true freshman. I have heard people say that Frasier and McCrae could be really something together. UGA has as much or more at every position as anyone. It will come down to breaks and coaching.
"I'm sure I'm being a bit nit picky here, but can we stop comparing the TEs to Brock Bowers"…..Henddawg, not at all picky, as you are correct…there will never be another Brock Bowers, HOWEVER, there are 5 current members of the TE room that given a BB mindset could easily surpass the phenomenal accomplishments of Brock…..Delp, Luckie, Williams, Barbour, and Reddell…..IMO, Delp will light the fuse this year but Barbour & Reddell will provide the explosion.
