Imo....Jordan Davis will join Carter on that list, after this season. He's "ready".

Lol...Philly is giving the rest of the league a Clinic on talent evaluation. Hmm....so is Kirby, come to think of it.

For you fishermen out there...Philadelphia is poaching Kirby's fishing hole, legally. The rest of the fishermen are starting to catch-on. Lol

And, poor ole Chicago....or, as I call em, "Can't Get Right". Bet they wish they had another shot at Carter.

Smh..."He's not what we want to build our new culture on, based on our evaluation.".…[Bears' Front Office]. Lmao...well congratulations fellas.…you succeeded in building a losing culture.

As far as I'm concerned...Travon is doing exactly what Jax is asking him to do. Maybe if TW was playing in Hutchinson's defensive scheme and vice-versa....Walker would be more successful than AH.

I.e....the numbers would be reversed. You can't compare apples to oranges...and, that's where a lot of these "experts" go wrong.

    Go get em Big Red!

@BigDawg61 No, on Walker vs Hutchinson it was a fair statement. The Walker vs Hutchinson deal was kind of complicated but I will try to explain.

    1. a.Hutchinson was hands down the best 4-3 LDE prospect in the draft … but that is all. b. At another position or in another scheme he is an average player or bust.
    2. Jacksonville freely acknowledged a. but had no interest in a guy who could only be a 4-3 LDE because they ran a 3-4 defense. And while Hutchinson is clearly a potential Pro Bowler, he isn't a franchise type worth switching your scheme for. Plus even if they switched to 4-3, the Jaguars already had a Pro Bowl weakside pass-rusher in Josh Hines-Allen to be a 4-3 LDE anyway.
    3. So Jacksonville took Walker, a 6'5" 275 lb. guy with the off-the-charts athleticism to in theory play any position on the front seven (depending on scheme). The plan: play him at ROLB to give Jacksonville the sort of devastating 3-4 OLB duo that the Patriots had in the 2000s with Tedy Bruschi and Mike Vrabel.
    4. Make no mistake: Walker did not work out at ROLB. He had 14 sacks, 1 INT and 1 forced fumble in 2 seasons. In 2024 Jacksonville switched to a 4-3 defense. Walker had 10 sacks, true, but at RDE. No one uses the #1 overall pick on an RDE - they are generally taken in the middle of the 1st - because RDE is at best the 5th most important position on defense after (in no particular order) DT, LDE, OLB, CB. (Some would even say that free safeties are more vital).
    5. Would Travon Walker have been an effective 4-3 LDE if Jacksonville didn't already have a Pro Bowl one to play there? Likely, but he would not have been as good at LDE as Hutchinson. (Note: there is no basis to claim otherwise. Hutchinson was far more skilled, polished and productive at that position in college.)
    6. Would Travon Walker have been an effective 3-4 LDE, allowing him and Hines-Allen to wreak havoc on the same side? Perhaps, but Walker would have needed to put on 10-15 lbs, making him more of a developmental project than a #1 overall type.
    7. Should Jacksonville have tried out another guy at ROLB in that draft? That was another problem: it was a really bad draft for OLBs. There were no other options.
    8. Jacksonville was stuck at #1. They couldn't trade down because beyond Hutchinson and a couple of CBs there weren't any consensus top 10 players.
    9. Result? Jacksonville chose to take a big swing that Walker would develop into a Pro Bowler at ROLB and missed because that really was the best option available to them in that situation. Even though Hutchinson is clearly a better player at this point than Walker, it is hard to say that they were "wrong" because there was no scenario where drafting Hutchinson would have made Jacksonville a better team that didn't involve trading a 25 year old 2 time Pro Bowler that they had invested the #7 pick on 3 years earlier to play the same edge rusher position.

    Advice to Mitch:

    1. Nobody is going to read your opinionated diatribe.
    2. You like to hear yourself talk.
    3. See 1.
    4. There are plenty of Pop Warner teams out there that need a man of your vast knowledge. Go for it.

Lmao....I wasn't gonna say nuttin'…but, yeah....Long way around the truth.

Given....That the commenter's "opinion" is, no more valid than mine or yours [and wrong]....I'll proceed. Lol

Imo....the biggest difference between AH & TW....is "Their Employer". Jacksonville's claim on mediocrity and instability was there, looong before Walker showed up in camp.

I don't think they had a plan, at all, when they drafted Walker You can't just throw money & talent at a weakness and expect it to fix all your problems....like a lot of these NFL Teams are doing.

I saw Travon eating up a lot of double and triple teams....unless the play was going away from him. He is best, when he's allowed to pursue. He's made a lot of big plays coming in from the backside of a play.

I've also watched Aiden. I think he's one of the best DE's to ever play ball. He is definitely given different checkpoints and responsibilities than Walker. He's allowed to go huntin',, a lot more often....which helps his "stats".

And, AH gets a little relief from a relatively competent Offense, that is capable of sustaining long drives from time-to-time. Jacksonville needs 2 defenses....to alternate between Jaguar turnovers and punts. Lol

If the Jags ever put together a decent offense...and defense....with top notch coaching....Walker will be a one-man wrecking crew. Until then....he's just there to help slow down the bleeding....and, pray for free-agency or trade. Lol.
