The bad thing with not paying the high amount some of these guys ask for is now we have play against them. I guess time will tell….

Cant argue that fact at all. I can't imagine the pressure they're under. Most of these kids are lucky if they've seen more than a few hundred dollars at a time. All of a sudden, you've got every Tom Dick and Harry offering tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars to these kids. That kind of money will make a big and lasting impression on a young mind. I Don't like NIL never have, never will, but times are changing, and its not going away. So i say, you better get it while you can, because you never know, the very next play could end your football career permanently.

When teams attempt to win the recruitment ranking in lieu of games, these kids will start to understand that there are more opportunities than there is money. Hopefully, the landscape will change. We see it yearly with the transfer portal, when kids who think they should be starting in lieu of sitting after the money effects wears off.

Some will grow up in a hurry, some will get buried in the lifestyle that the money provides, and some will fall apart under the pressure. For example, if your starting QB shows up in a new Lamborghini, there's a chance it will not go over well with the other players. Just a thought.

Unfortunately, amongst the top 5, money is the safe bet. I say this because any of the top 5 teams will get you to the NFL, if you are good.

I am always amazed when they announce the pre-game lineups and a kid pops up to say they are from "Western Northwest State"— some school I have never heard of. There are more than a few for each game. Somehow they made it to the big game and maybe with no NIL. If you perform, they'll find room for you.

We are going to lose more than our fair share to the "Safe Bet" players who go for the big money and a lower quality development environment within the top 5 ranked teams. Further, NIL and the portal without contracts will always be a problem for everyone.

And that's the KEY to successful recruiting…..find the highest skilled most physically developed, mature/intelligent players that LOVE the game with passion…..players that aren't satisfied with just getting in the candy store but want to know how it's all made, and sold so they can be the owner one day…..player that are tunnel vision focused on the next level, players that grow to love their TEAMmates, Coaches, school and fans so much that they're more than willing to endure the punishment and suffering required to achieve elite status….religating NIL bucks to "chump change"…..Raylen is well on his way to the DGD exosphere that so many of his current TEAMmate aspire to….the KEY, have a TEAM comprised with as many players that embrace the Raylen Wilson attitude and philosophy……religating Blue Chip NIL Divas to "Chump Change"!
