How Georgia approach counters Texas talent, works to thrive in hype shadows

Welcome to "Around the SEC" where we give you the latest from around the conference and how it impacts the Georgia program.

Georgia has very little pressure on the team this season. Too many unknowns. Expectations are all over the board for the Dawgs. We're expected to do well, as usual, but what that is exactly is anyone's guess. Everyone has their own take on this season. But the Dawgs will be fine, however the season unfolds. Kirby will get the most he can out of this team. The Dawgs are an elite college football organization.
No, the spotlight is on Texas, which is good. But Texas hasn't proven anything, and the Dawgs took care of them twice last season. The Texas hype train has left the station, and Sark has got a lot to prove this season. Glad we're not in his shoes.
MontanaDawg—Nicely said and thought out. I also like the "spot" we're in—lots of unknowns and lots of doubt and doubters. When you sit and look over our roster, I think we're gonna be pretty dang good. I'm waiting for "that" glorious time of the year between August and February when all the magic happens—like being a 7 year old waiting for Christmas. GO DAWGS
Nice article, Mike Griffith.
While I’m not a big fan of Cowherd, I liked his take on Texas.
That sounds about right.
All very true MontanaDawg and throw in we have them between the hedges this year. The stadium will be rocking! I like our chances again this year against the Longhorns. Go Dawgs!
Not to be a Debbie downer and the Dawgs will be ready but the week off that Texas has before the game is a huge advantage. I’ve been to too many cocktail parties that Florida had a week and Georgia didn’t . It was changed later but not after many whoopings .
It could also turn out to become complacency for Texas and a flat performance. A bye isn't always a plus.
I don’t have anything personal against Arch Manning but exactly What has he actually done to be a top Heisman contender ? If his last name was Kaddidlehopper would he Still get the same recognition ?
I believe Gunner and Puglisi could be every bit as good as he is. TX is loaded with cupcakes to start their season, they should have 4 consecutive Wins, which could end up being rat poison. The media will rave and drool over them Especially because a Manning is the starting QB. Could easily swell the heads up to the point their heads will be so big their horns might look short !!
I believe they will be in for a rude awakening when they come to Athens !! Stadium packed to the brim with loud and proud Dawgs fans !! Dawgs defense devouring Arch. The horns go back to TX defeated Again by the Red & Black !! Go Dawgs !!
