This is not "petty stuff". It was another bad dicision in a long list of bad decisions that could've resulted in tragedy. It is an embarrassment to the entire program. This reflects a lack of leadership from the players and coaches.

Being in a diversion program is mea culpa of his involvement in the report. That being said I can foresee a convenient 2 game suspension in his future.

There was no DWI charge so I'm assuming he just had it in his car - not that he was high while driving.

If that's the case, this is a **** charge and in most sane states it wouldn't be illegal to transport it at all.

IF ....All players under Kirby Smart are leaders....and I would argue that they ARE, or they wouldn't be there….then personal decisions are on each individual.

IMO....It's asinine to blame any organization or employer for the failures of it's employees..."as if" they were children.

Unfortunately....Knowing the difference between "right and wrong", doesn't prevent our very flawed reasoning & logic centers of the brain, from malfunctioning occasionally....and choosing "wrong". Especially, if that brain has been knocked around for 10 years, give or take.

In other words....they are just as human as the rest of us. Lol...surprise, surprise!

It falls on deaf ears in our current cultural Renaissance of Reckoning...where personal responsibility takes the driver's seat....and victim-hood takes a hike.

Uh yes, of course it is on the coaches as well as the players. Obviously the message from the coaching "leaders" is not getting through to these young men. Are the UGA coaches oblivious to the fact that UGA leads all D1 teams in arrests for the last 3 years? Or do they just turn a blind eye because the guy's making bad decisions have Sunday potential? Are the UGA coaches even trying to develop men from these young men? Many of these players are still teenagers. They are in the program to develop as players and men.

Obviously the player leadership council is not working. It is clearly not enough. It is starting to look like the UGA coaches don't really care if players grow up considering how many incidences UGA has each year. They certainly seem to be providing very little guidance (leadership, duh). NOT providing leadership is a leadership deficiency. Not to mention the lack of "consequences" of doing illegal things.

CFB players were all coddled HS football players who are at that very dangerous time in their lives between kids and men. Probably the 1st time they're on their own. Probably the most important time in their life to receive good leadership.

But apparently winning is more important at UGA than consequences for illegal behavior. So the illegal behavior continues when there are no consequences. I can only think of 1 player in the last 5 years to be kicked off the team (DDS). CKS's statement " I would just be passing a problem on to another coach" is starting to ring hollow and sound self serving when a kid has talent and can help the program.

Expect this trend to continue.

These players are not "employees".
Young people act like children when they don't receive the proper leadership and training. Since so many UGA players seem to act immaturely one must assume they are not receiving the proper leadership, training and reinforcement.
