Only reasoning I can extrapolate is these "National Media Sports Analyst" must give a heavy weighting to "results ESPN wants".

Any true analysis should baseline from "actual results vs expectations from a Kirby Smart led team" with no more than 3-key metrics involved. (historical W-L record, weighted average strength of schedule, player recruiting AND retention grade, staff turnover - weighted by coaching promotion/demotion, etc)

Lots of key pieces to come together and lots of youth but the talent is certainly there. 10-2 wouldn’t shock me but hoping for 11-1. Go frgn Dawgs, let’s get this season rolling. Gunner for Heisman!

Sorry SICem, but I’m afraid that score will be reversed since we are the home team…..kinda like: Marshall 0 Dawgs 52

Just kidding….I’ll take it either way. Dang I’m ready for the season to start!!! Go Dawgs!!!

Normally I’m about the big 3: win the state win the conference win the natty but this year I am simply about the big 1: JUST BEAT BAMA!!! Anything else is gravy on top.

I could care less about what the “experts” think of Gunner. I’m sure they would have laughed at Phill Simms when he played at Morehead State. He didn’t even complete 49% of his passes and had 32 TD passes to an outrageous 45 interceptions, but he was a leader and won 2 Superbowls. Our own Buck Belue had a career 32 TDs and 32 interceptions and in 1980 only completed 49% of his passes, but his leadership along with HW was good enough to win a NC. My point is that Gunner doesn’t have to be a superstar statistically to win it all. He needs to be a great leader and use good judgement and avoid costly mistakes and we will do just fine. Go Dawgs and let’s prove those “experts” frequently don’t have a clue.

I sure am glad talking season is coming to an end and the play on the field is about to take over.

No one knows much about any of the teams now . Just speculation. Like James Franklin is all of a sudden start winning the big games just because of the experienced roster. Clemson is now the Clemson of old for the same reasons. I mean the weak schedule is another factor, but what can you do?

Texas had a weak schedule and then lost its biggest games. Texas' schedule is not much tougher this year with most all of its toughest games being at home and then… it has bye weeks before its 2 toughest challenges on the road! And a whole off season to prepare for OSU.

I swear somehow the SEC was coerced into giving them a cake walk coming into the league. They went to #1 in the nation and played NO team in the top 20 last year except UGA I believe and well, that told the tale. May they get what they deserve buying their roster and still trying to steal our players to this day and lose 4-5 games this year. That will mean losing a few at home. That would be awesome!

I expect Gunner to be a little more polished than he was in the playoff game. Lots of reps with the ones all off season surely has helped. These first two games will be used by Kirby to get the team on the same page on both sides of the ball. Then it's off to Knoxville for the real season. I expect they will be ready for it by then. I feel better today than on Friday before game day last season. I know that Nate is getting all the love in the running back room, but having big # 0 back is going to be big IMO.
