Dawgs looked strong out of the gate without showing too much . I’m sure after this week of practice Drew will snap the ball when a defender jumps .

I thought the Dawgs played well, but I agree the OL looked porous on many pass attempts. Seemed like Gunner was under a lot of pressure so I hope we improve on our pass protection. Go Dawgs and good job!!!

Can’t argue with the grades but if looking to the future, the O line is a concern. Whether it be playing enough together as a group, or opening game jitters, or whatever, there just wasn’t any consistent surge from this group and the RBs were getting hit way too soon after the handoff. Now it seems the ability to play together long enough to gel is at risk due to injuries. If there isn’t improvement the ability to establish the run game and make play action passes a threat will be very difficult to accomplishment.

Phillips was a very pleasant surprise with his ability to break tackles. He will be fun to watch as the season goes on. Branch was more than anyone could’ve asked for. He is a game changer each time he has the ball and the TEs will be a problem for many teams to adequately cover. Would’ve liked more dominance but it was game 1 and hopefully it is all up from here.

Gunner looked a bit tight/rushed with his throws…Pugs had the "touch"…..no worries, with a QBR of 99 and the smoothest fake-pull-and run that I've ever seen a Dawg execute, Gunner's our Dawg…..SHOUTOUT'S to Peanut, runnin with his pants on fire, Nate for Dependability, and Chauncey for the longest run of the day…..Elyiss….I'm glad they saved Darnell's uniforms elsewise he'd be scorin in the buff, to Zachariah & London for the TD snags and glad Colby is back, To Zion, Raylen, Chris, CJ, Terrell, Gabe and KJ…our tackling tornados….a special to KJ for the BP, for Mr Reliable…Peyton, and how bout Drew workin to meet the Aussie Standard.

I'm not sure why the outside LBs got a C? Connor didn't explain, just straight up gave a C without explanation, i don't get it. They weren't the group that gave up the huge chunks of yardage late. That was the DBs. Connor, please explain why you gave the OLBs a C? I mean a C, after pretty much shutting the O out for the whole game until junk time for the backups. A C, please explain the C, I really need to know.

loved what I saw from Gunner, the only thing I would say is he throws the fastball for every throw, got to put some touch on some of those. Was impressed that the WRs could catch 5 yards from LOS coming at them 200mph 😂

JAWAG - but guessing he doesn't understand the responsibilities of linebacker play.

Hoping was a more consistent, better playing )-line this season. Having 2 or 3 injuries early was not good. Hopefully they will be recovered in time for Tennessee.

Grit alone gives the OLB boys a C+ …come on! OL….B. Much improved. Glad this was round one at this level. Had it been, say. TN, could have been a different outcome….just sayin'. SEC much tougher. Learning curve is what this young team needed. Plenty of talent…just need field time against Marshall-type opponents, which they are getting. SEC will come soon enough.

don’t know what grade to give the Georgia Bulldogs radio crew. Really missed Eric as the color guy. Loved him as a QB and in the booth. Hope he can return.

Over all I was pretty pleased with our Dawgs. The game plan was run, run, run. We pretty much knew that would be the case coming in. I’d have like to have seen both Gunner and Pugs have a couple of deep pass play calls but KS and Bobo not showing any cards. Expect the same next week.

The O line did pretty decent but they need to get much better and Quick as the Vols are gonna be tougher than I thought it seems, especially playing in their house.

The Defense was very stout until KS started subbing in the backups. That killed getting the shutout but I understand giving as many guys playing time as possible is more important.
There’s allot of work to be done and very little time to get it done but compared to some of the early game slow starts we’ve seen in the past this one was refreshing. Just keep the pedal to the floor. Oh it would’ve been nice to see a defensive take away by our Dawgs, KJ Bolden came close to getting a pick. The blocked punt was nice !! Go Dawgs !!

WHile it was a good day offensively, I can't call it great or we've somehow turned the page on our rushing from last season. THere were still times when we got stuffed, and on 3rd and 1 too. This was not a good team we played. Imagine playing Clemson or Ohio St, or LSU for an opener. We wouldn't be so giddy today.

Quite honestly I felt like it was Gunner's running that got us over the top, not our passing or running, and while it's good to know what he brings in that department, it shouldn't of had to be that way IMO.

I think the defense had the better of it, but then again we should of, we're stacked with 4 and 5 stars! But no sacks! Tackles for a loss was good, but once again we see where where a running QB takes off straight up the middle and there's no one there! Will we ever fix that? I have nightmares about Haynes King after watching Tech Friday. Maybe we can have an answer by then.

To me it was a B+ kind of day. We won, but I just wanted to see a few more holes opened up by the O-line and a little more from the passing game. THere were a couple of passes tipped or batted and a couple of passes Gunner threw that should of been intercepted but weren't .

THe defense looked moe excited after good plays than last years squad did.

Kelly is the best cornerback beside Everett. Kelly is going to be great. Heis better than #15
