Georgia football injury report: Kirby Smart provides the latest on OL situation, Daylen Everette

On Tuesday, Smart said Everette is dealing with an ankle injury. Smart seemed optimistic that Everette was trending in the right direction as far as pushing back onto the field.

"We're hopeful … but only time will tell." Kirby-speak for "at least 4 weeks."
Hoping for a full, and speedy recovery for all these guys..GoDAWGS!
Robinson has troubled legs. He needs to get over the hamstring issue, play in a game and see how it goes. If injured again…the portal. I like Rod, but he is injury prone. RBs need a bigger game vs Austin Peay. Likely lots of vanilla again. At times, WRs were wide open last game, yet Gunner checked down to closer receiver as planned in huddle. Needs to free lance a bit more. Armchair pundits say Austin Peay is not as good as Marshall OK..let's see UGA off on another fast start. This Georgia team is loaded with talent!!! I am very optimistic.
All I can say is if we are depending on true freshman Juan Gaston on the O-line then we are in more trouble than I thought when it comes to talent and depth for this group…
nothing against the young man, but why, playing Marshall, did Miller have to punt SIX times. If his name is called more than 3 times this week, the offense really needs to be examined.
Go watch the Youtube breakdown film study of the game. You will see our offensive lineman getting thrown down and pushed around by 2-3 star athletes. You can say that we were missing starters, but come on. There was a solid reason we were 3 for 10 on third down or whatever the exact number was. I was very disappointed. It's all anyone's talked about for 8 months. That level of play means losses to quality teams. Marshall lost 78 players from last year's squad. This needs fixing.
Gaston's blocks were very good. I see what they like about him.
If he is riding a scooter around, he ain't playing this week. I also believe this OL will be the downfall for another lost season. This looks to be a poor excuse for a offensive coaching staff over all. The tight end coach needs to get in Kirby's ear about Delp. He is awful.
Hopefully Gaston and Greene injuries are season long nagging tweaks, we will need all hands on deck on the Oline if we're gonna make a CFP run…
"aren't" season long nagging
Let the injured guys rest this week and next game. Make everyone who plays, the rest of the season, show the "fire, passion and energy" moniker every play or lose their job, and that includes coaches whose position room lacks it. No excuses with a team this deep and highly touted. Go Dawgs!
OL did not look improved. Bobo and Freeling looked okay. The rest did not look good. Really puzzling considering the size, maturity, coaching, individual rankings and experience of the UGA OL group. Certainly more talent in that room than most teams have. Yet the UGA OL has trouble moving anyone off the line.
when coaches say unspecified makes me think concussion.
are we sure the coaching is elite? One thing I’ve noticed is that the strength and conditioning has taken a step backwards since 2023.
We always have more injuries than anyone we play. It's because of how we practice. You've got to make that decision on availability of players—does the betterment of the players you have available overcome the loss of the injured players you can't use. I suppose that's one of the most important calls of a head coach.
I am not sure ANY UGA position group gets "elite" coaching. Elite recruiting. yes. But not elite coaching. You don't rank 30th as a defense ('24) with that level of talent all across the defense if you are getting elite coaching.
It seems UGA practices are designed to have (supposedly) elite recruits/players beat each other into submission. Then take that mindset into games vs teams that don't work or practice that hard and overwhelm them with talent and physicality until they give up. Worked for years for Alabama. But Alabama had 2 deep 5*'s and 4 deep 4*'s and could afford the attrition caused by overly physical practices.
Don't get me wrong, nothing worse than rooting for (or playing on) a soft, finesse football team. The question was where is the elite coaching being done at UGA. Beating into submission, while good, is not "outcoaching" your opponent.
Look at the coaching turnover at UGA in the last 5 years. 3rd OL coach. 3rd or 4th DB coach. 2nd or 3rd WR and RB coaches. Muschamp gone. Lanning gone. Been a lot of coaching changes.
