Sorry, Bobby Hill. Maybe next year…
IMO (and that's all it is,) the Vols got too cute at the end. Timeouts. Trying too hard for another yard or hash position. Don't get greedy. I kept saying out loud, why don't they just kick it? Then the 5 yard penalty. I think Heupel took way too long and iced his own kicker
I know we Dawgs fans are sort of stingy about giving opponents very much praise. But I must say the Vols were well prepared, Very hungry, and gave it their all. They were a missed FG away from sending us home broken hearted. But I’ve seen numerous times down through the years that it Was our Dawgs who came up just a tiny bit short of the W and breaking My heart. It’s all part of the game.
Only time will tell how the Vols or our Dawgs will stack up against our schedules, but I think at least for now our Dawgs beat a very good TN team today.
It wasn’t pretty by any means but I’m glad our Dawgs never laid down and died and kept fighting and got the W. Go Dawgs !!
P.S. I want our Dawgs to beat Bama as much or more than the Vols wanted to beat us today !!
What a great game and I’m sure glad it was a DAWGS win or I would be hesitant to call it good. Dawgs were resilient and Stockton definitely made a statement. How about Aguero - what a game that young man had at the safety position. UT is a very solid team and that was one solid win in a very hostile environment. Heupel is the right coach for them and they will be a challenge every year.
Feel kind of like the Dawgs stole one but that wouldn’t be fair because they absolutely earned and deserved that win. They were the last ones standing and that counts for a lot. Go DAWGS!
#74 center #56 Morris at left guard, #59 left tackle, right guard #63 Glove ( Freshman), right tackle #55 ( sophomore). Langston Huugh right side. . That's the starting 5 offensive lineman. Passing Rusher Defensive end. Play Gibson the Freshman. And #9 can play Passing down situation at the end too
I feel like Heupel is jinxed against UGA. Just like we are jinxed against Alabama. I hope we can end that jinx in 2 weeks.
Yep, good point on the kicker, I felt the same as well. I knew there was a chance for a miss as soon as the cameraman showed him taking deep breaths on the sidelines…coupled with him being a freshman, you'd think Heupel would know better, just glad he didn't.
HUepel iced his own kicker.
