Winner, Mike Bobo - 500 yards of offense. I know, too many up the middle runs in the middle of the game, but anytime someone can generate 500 yards with a bunch of 20 year olds, that's good.
Loser - Defensive ends. They aren't getting to the QB. Anytime you allow almost 500 yards offense, the QB isn't getting pressure. It exposes defensive backs, which should be way better than they are.
If your O line is young why would you continue to run when you have better receivers and tight ends ?Watching tech and noticing how good the play calling was and how Ga is so predictable. Hopefully Ga gets it right but last year after 2 weeks to prepare in both games they came out flat . We need 3 bye weeks but only have 2 . Texas will have 2 weeks to prepare for Ga . Hopefully they will have matured by then . BEAT BAMA !!!!!
No "losers" in this game - it took all 22 players, special teams, coaches/staff and those that sat in support to win this one, including fans. A team win all the way around - they all are winners.
Loser- the Tenn QB celebrating in the endzone like a little kid on Christmas morning. I love opposing QB's who act like they've never done anything good before.
WHat I admired about GS is when he was sitting on the bench and Ryan Montgomery was trying to congratulate him and blow him up after we scored, he basically ingnored Montgomery, with no smile whatsoever!!! THat's maturity!
Being a defensive back himself, I'm sure KS wasn't too thrilled with our DB play
"jdatl3"—-Spot on. There was almost no defensive pressure on the Vols from our defensive front. "Epic win over Tennessee"—If beating the 15th ranked team is now "epic", how far have your expectations fallen, Conner?
Loser - Tenn coaching staff. We were talking about it at work (lots of Tenn fans) and they blame the coaching for the missed FG to end regulation and I have to agree. I completely understand positioning the ball, but the way they did it (one coworker said they did Smart's job and "iced the kicker") was just really not good. Either go for the TD or get in position and kick the ball. That's on them.
Anyway, I think Georgia did a great job overall of playing "Georgia Football". Lots of "smash mouth" plays. Tenn is clearly under-ranked at #15 and we might be a bit over-ranked at 8 but we shall see. O-line did a great job which was really necessary. Defense was pretty horrifying in the 1st Quarter but got it together.
The DBs never look back for the ball. Going back to Williams catch that cost UGA the Bama game last year. Don't understand. Are they coached to run with their back to the QB?
He better start #55 Hughley at right Tackle and Glover at Guard. They deserve the start.
Loser: Georgia red zone scoring inside the 5 yard line. Not scoring TDs in those opportunities are going to lose a game or two for Georgia if this doesn't get fixed. Over 500 yards of offense was great, but 10 more yards and two more TDs instead of FGs and this game wouldn't have had the ending it did because Georgia would have been ahead.
Don't let anyone diminish the shine on this victory. Sure the vols were "only #15" and not getting serious consideration for the CFP, but keep in mind that the Dawgs have won three times in Knoxville (2021, 2023, 2025) since Bama last won there (2020). And to beat them playing their style of game was even more incredible, especially early in the season when the defense is still gelling. Even the 2021 UGA defense had a few early moments when the game got a little sideways before they put the clamps down. Also, I'd nominate London Humphreys as another winner - he hasn't always been the most dependable WR but is starting to show he can come through in clutch moments.

Gunner got hit blind side when Monroe Freeling got beat around the edge. Don't think Uini had anything to do with it. But you are right, the previous play the line collapsed and Uini's man slipped right thru as Stockton released the ball.
They aren't getting to the QB……
That's part of the reason for all of those completed passes that left us shaking our heads. This Tennessee QB, and every other QB that we will face will see a dramatic drop in their completion percentage if he/they are running for their life! Go back and watch that 3rd down play in overtime to see what Dawg pressure on the QB should look like.

The last time that UGA actually had healthy WRs and TEs good enough to be high NFL draft picks, in 2023, they had an undefeated regular season and led the SEC in touchdown passes. The coordinator? Bobo. But in the SECCG both Bowers and McConkey were hurt (thanks in part to a terrible decision to try to play them in the Tennessee and Georgia Tech games that they weren't needed in) and you have seen the results since. It isn't the playcalling. It is no longer having players as good as Bowers, McConkey, AD Mitchell, Darnell Washington, George Pickens or even Kenny McIntosh and Jermaine Burton around.
Also, will people please quit calling the Georgia Tech offense "creative." How creative did they look when they were losing to Syracuse, Louisville, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech (who just fired their coach) and Syracuse last year? Georgia Tech's whole offense revolves around Haynes King, a 6th year guy who is only at Tech because he couldn't win the starting job at Texas A&M in 3 years, and A&M was nowhere close to a powerhouse when he was there or after he left. Which means he isn't exactly the next Josh Allen or anything close. Tech's offense looks great against Georgia because Kirby Smart's defenses have always been vulnerable to dual threat QBs. But against teams who do a lot better at defending running QBs, he isn't nearly as effective. His 415 yards and 5 TDs against UGA last year was his best game by a mile. Vanderbilt held him to 9 yards rushing on 11 carries and he was 100% healthy in that game.
On the touchdown against Harris, I don't care what Lemonier says, that was OPI. He said there was no push off, but I know what I saw. As the ball was in the air I was thinking, yeah you get that interception. Then the receiver put both hands on him and extended his arms, at which point Harris went from being perfectly positioned to at least knock the ball away, to suddenly flailing in the wrong direction. His posture went from one of focus and intent to make a play on the ball, to suddenly looking downward and away, bracing for a fall.
This isn't about blaming the refs (although it was a pretty obvious call that they missed). My point is that while the defense was mostly hot garbage in this game, I'm inclined to give Harris a pass on that one.
