No False starts is huge
"It’s how you take that medicine"... words to live by from CKS!
Another thing I've been really proud of this team since Saturday is how every single player interviewed credits their teammates and deflects any individual compliments... we've been needing on-field leadership tempered by humility. Now, we've got it!
First, great win. Lucky, but a win all the same. But you can't count on the other team to fail. UGA had this game for the taking with great field position twice. And both times, Bobo went conservative. Just because you ran it down their throat for one drive doesn't mean they won't adjust. And they did. Play calling on those two drives let Tennessee back in the game. Before that, UGA had quieted the crowd and stolen the momentum. That's inexplicable to me. Bobo get's too cute for his own good.
Great win but the sad part was that after we tied the game our defense couldn’t stop their offense. Just like the OSU game where if he hits that FG then we don’t play for the natty and Saturday he hits it … well we know the rest of the story. Defense needs to come up with those stops. Go Dawgs
was it Bobo or Kirby trying to run the clock down. I can’t believe they called that pass play on 4th down. If he misses it or out of bounds then game over. I wonder if Kirby was thinking defensive PI. They scored too quick😂
@Tswood1959 I won't begin to second guess the gutsy call on 4 down. Perfectly executed and ESPN highlight worthy. My point was that kind of gamble shouldn't have been necessary. The Dawgs had them by the throat and Bobo let off the gas. Score one more TD and they are playing desperation football. They caught a break and so did UGA at the end. But Bobo needs to HUNT and keep HUNTING like Kirby always preaches.
Those UGA players will be proud of that game last weekend the rest of their lives. It showed grit and character and erased any and all doubts about Gunner Stockton and the rest of the team too. Lots to work on in the next two weeks, though, if they want to have another great memory for life: Beating Alabama between the hedges! It will not be easy, and I suspect we'll need more of that grit, character and determination. But for the first time in decades, I am quietly confident that if the team works hard the next two weeks, the Crimson Tide football helmet will adorn our trophy wall the next Monday!
The UGA coaches need to get together and hire some professional counselors to help them permanently rid themselves of the bad habit of going ultra conservative every time they take a lead in a football game. Saban never did that! Why do we do that? Are we afraid we might hurt some feelings. The goal, coaches, is to floor the accelerator for sixty full minutes. Do not let up on the accelerator (during the football game that is)…. haha
