“He doesn’t complain, he doesn’t point fingers, he doesn’t lay blame,” Georgia coach Kirby Smart said. “He takes hits on the chin and takes some pretty vicious ones, and he gets up and goes on to play the next play. And I think there’s a lot of respect in that humility that the other players on offense and really the whole team have for Gunner.”

Something you never heard when Beck was driving the car…Gunner has that “it” factor, we’re lucky to have him.

After the second game some fans were claiming he didn't have what it takes and now he's coming in as the third-highest Heisman contender after the Tennessee game.  Kid was tough as nails Saturday.

Went back and watched the game and some of the QB room stuff, and he played so much better than at first glance. His composure under the just complete collapse of the RT spot until Hughes came on, was as impressive as I’ve ever seen. He took so many hits and stayed in to deliver the ball. When things do slow down some, he will be even better which will be scary for the competition. What a DAWG that young man is and glad he stayed and is leading this team.

Just like Agular seems like a great fit for the Vols, Stockton is the perfect fit for this team. Now, please get him some help by plugging that hole at RT!

100%. It's Bo Hughley at RT. At 6'7" and 295 pounds, he's lighter and longer than Greene (6'4" 320). He did a great job. As did the freshman Dontrell Glover at RG (who might be the sleeper of the group). When Gaston comes back, you might have a tough decision at RG. When Greene comes back, you might have an even tougher decision at RT. (I know, Greene was playing hurt.)

The issue is, and this happened in the A-P game, when it came time to sub in for Greene, Searles sent Uini (#52) in at RT first. Not Hughley. Both games. And both games, #52 looked lost. I feel bad for him as no one wakes up in the morning on game day and says: "I'm going to be turnstile today." He knows he has to get better.

But what the hell is Searles looking at all week in practice? Seriously. Does he just go for the next heaviest body? Is that how you move up the depth chart?

Glover and Hughley look like they've played together before and they have (at Langston Hughes HS). Which gets to another point.

I would be interested to know how much of each practice the line is "cross-training" at other OL spots. Spoiler alert: not a fan of cross-training everyone.

Yes, it gets Searles more personnel combination options. But if those combos include guys who, when not at their primary position, only "sort of" know what they are doing (and you get some of the RT play we've seen), what's the value in that? SEC defenses are so complicated, it's hard enough to know, adjust, communicate and play fast with one set of reads.

Maybe this is Uini's issue? If so, simplify. Reduce the number of positions he has to learn. Don't ask him to cross-train. If however, his primary position is RT, then he's got some work to do.

    Sorry for the rant.

    Go DAWGs!

It is funny, when I read the title, I was like, "What comes next, what comes next?" The answer is simple: Gunner keeps growing and leads us past Alabama, and the rest of the season is a whirlwind, which is what I think is next for Gunner. Now, just imagine if the defense catches up to the offense. At that point, everyone in a playoff spot should be really scared to play. That is exactly the position Kirby is aiming for. JMHO tho.
