Georgia secondary goes back to work after âmore bad than goodâ showing

By that metric, it was not a successful day for the Georgia defense. The Bulldogs gave up touchdown passes of 32, 56 and 72 yards on Saturday. Using Georgiaâs own standard of an explosive pass play, Georgia surrendered six pass plays of 16 yards or more.

Nothing is/was “bad” ….it’s a learning lesson with more opportunities to teach a very young team. It was also a great team effort with a win.
I feel sorry for the guy who has to cover Williams...not something anyone wants to do.
Those aren't 1st year defenders. One was beaten badly. The other two were in position, so to speak. Georgia hasn't had a lock down corner in a while. Dragging TE's and back's over the middle has been very productive against our Defense this year. Everyone is going to try that against us.
Everybody has to do their job. You can’t cover all day if there is no pressure. Linebackers need to drop and cover their area of responsibility - unless there is a blitz call or run play (read their keys).
Thought there were a couple of fluke plays in the secondary. Not as bad as it looked imo. In that environment big plays are gonna happen…good news is, they played better after the 1st qtr & we came out with a win.
That was a hard offense to cover. A veer, rpo’s, misdirection plays, fast pace, no huddle, good running team and hot as hayul with a deafening crowd.
Great learning experience imo, it helps them grow up in a hurry.
I think KJ should just "Bullard" him in the first half!!
"On the most important drive of the game, Georgia’s secondary forced two incompletions in overtime to limit Tennessee to a field goal."
The pressure on the QB was the difference maker on those plays. If you go back and watch that 3rd down play in OT you'll see Georgia bringing a blitz and it didn't matter who was open and who wasn't because Aguilar was running for his life! Without any help, the four DL had no impact on the QB in the first half. The best way to help these corners against these tall, fast receivers is to find a way to get to the QB.
GO DAWGS!
Put #24 at cornerback. He got the skill
