Georgia believes home-field advantage can give âthat little edgeâ against Alabama

ATHENS â Kirby Smart recognizes there is an advantage when it comes to playing at home. Georgia has won 33 consecutive games played inside Sanford Stadium.

that home field edge can happen with a amped up crowd and the Bama biased officiating crew assigned somewhere besides Athens, what happened to the Barn in Okieville was a pathetic travesty. Those officials should never be allowed on another SEC football field, imho
So the team is expecting the fans to beat Bama for them?
The previous games review vs bama on the video board will include Dooley’s first win over bama, the 76 game, the 2002 man enough game, the Stafford pass on OT, and the national championship game. Time to make more highlights for the next time they come to Athens. Go Dawgs! Beat bama!
I know I may not need to say this, but I'm going to anyway. Once again, it's time to rise up and show the college football world just how awesome Dawg fans are, and how incredibly loud we can be. If you're going to the game, do your part and get loud as h3ll! You are a big part of the game, and you CAN make a difference, if you choose to do so! Make some noise for our boys when Bama has the ball! Rock Sanford like it has never been rocked before! Rest well and be ready to do your part for this big game. Let's get after, my Dawg brothers and sisters! Let's freaking go!!! Show up and show out!
GO DAWGS!
BEAT BAMA'S ASS!
I will always remember that 1976 Alabama game. I was a senior in high school and I took my (academic) visit to UGA on the Friday before the game. We met the UGA admissions director, M. Overton Phelps, and he mentioned the game to my mama and me but being from Florida, I had no idea how big a deal it was. I think we briefly discussed trying to get a hotel room and finding tickets to the game but Phelps basically told us that at that point, there was virtually no hope of finding either. So after touring the campus — and seeing people all over the railroad tracks — my mama and I drove back to Atlanta where we were staying that weekend. Don't think I even watched the game, but listened on the radio. About two weeks later, I received my official acceptance letter from UGA. Go Dawgs!
I Hope that Dawgs fans are several decibels higher than when they donned black jerseys and beat another team from the state of Alabama !! I’ve heard that was one of if not The loudest Sanford Stadium has ever been !! Go Dawgs !! Turn the Tide to a trickle !!
21 - 0, Dawgs. Led by another running QB, Ray Goff.
"DallasDawg"—Nice story. You went on an "academic visit" to UGA? You must've been a Brainiac in High School with a really high GPA. Glad to have you as a fellow graduate of that great institution. I was a fairly competent B+ student who was fortunate enough to receive an acceptance letter that led to the finest 5 years of my life! Let's hope our home field crowd will give us a good advantage.
Kirby says:
“But at the end of the day, you’ve got to go play football, and it comes down to matchups, it comes down to who blocks and tackles the best, who executes and does things in the key moments of the game. So certainly glad it’s at home, but we’ve still got to play well.”
Yep. It’s football. Gotta block ‘em and gotta tackle ‘em. The team that executes the fundamentals best usually wins. Both teams have very good players. Go kick their butts Dawgs. Play harder, faster, and meaner. Make ‘em wish they’d never seen Athens, Georgia.
I was there when we beat Bama 21-0. Believe it was 1979. That was a great day.
