One more thing- Coach Smart’s coaching epitaph is sadly mirroring that of the great Bobby Bowden- Oh the things he could’ve accomplished if he could’ve just beaten one team!
Yes, Smart is only 9+ years in, but both stuck at two natties. It could be more were it not for our inability to beat one freakin’ team (save for one, apparently fluke win in retrospect, in the natty).
Freshman needs to catch a wide open TD pass. Kirby needs to tie the game instead of abhelter skelter 4th down play they ran with Cash Jones. This game is like an NFL game. When you have a chance at any points, you take them. This is not HS football. And Kirby and Schumann need to ask why are they getting shell shocked in the first half on defense. It's either poor planning or poor execution.
And I Sure hate to rub it in. But be assured this Did hurt future recruiting .
Out coached. Out played. It's that simple.
There has to be some changes. Start with Bobo. I can't ignore it any longer. He has to go.
And Kirby, ALWAYS TAKE POINTS. ALWAYS.
I've been saying this for years, but Kirby is too arrogant for his own good
Has anyone notice that Kirby can recruit with the best but he can't seem to keep them. Under no circumstance should we have 15+ plus players leaving Athens via portal…and this was happening before NIL. The players DO NOT like for playing for Kirby. He needs start showing some humility and take ownership for some of the team failures. Yet, he hires Mike Bobo again knowing 90% of the Alumni hates his play-calling, then he runs off Todd Monken and refuses to change the offense strategy. For instance we out gained Bama by more than 100+ yards but still couldn't get in the zone when it counted. My point- you need more than just a run game- you need someone with creativity who can design a passing game.
IMHO- The biggest problem Georgia has is Kirby- he's too arrogant and thinks he's irreplaceable.
I Love our Dawgs. And I deeply appreciate All Kirby Smart has done. But with the level of recruiting he’s had we should be curb stomping teams Including Bama on a regular basis. NOT having to fight to the wire and OT wins etc. But clean and Solid wins against top tier opponents !! It’s his Friends Staff !! They are Killing Georgia football !!
