Final grades as Georgia football once again rallies to beat Auburn

Comments
Another game where 2 different teams show up. Georgia has now failed to have a halftime lead in nine of its past 10 power-conference games. But it has come back to win six of those games, including against Texas in the SEC Championship game.
So, basically, we're winning over 60% of our Power 4 games in this fashion.
I truly don't recommend this approach, but apparently that's our method of operation now and has been for quite some time.
Glaring statistics:
Proud of the resilience of this team and the gutsy performance, but I'd love to see us play the way some of the top teams are playing and winning...resoundingly.
We beat a team that had lost 2 road games to undefeated teams and they could/should have won both. C-, seriously? Go Dawgs!
Someone needs to grade the SEC refs.
How much worse can they get?
I am only giving out one grade this week…
HEART…A+
One of the punts should have been downed inside the 10 but our guys bit on the Auburn player faking the run up to catch the punt when it was way over his head.
Parity is here, compadre. No team is winning every game resoundingly.
Coaching really needs to be added and could be it's own set of grades. Auburn had the advantage of the week off and showed what you are supposed to do during a bi-week. They were prepared to play Georgia... Like we were supposed to vs Bama. This is a pattern that has not changed. Bobo gets humiliated and then the next game we start off strong... Then the next week he gets humiliated again and so forth.
I'd compare it to a video game. The slider every week is on maximum for endurance prep and it shows. The defense held up incredibly well considering they played about a full game out there in the first half and offense was putting them quickly back out there with 3 and outs. The problem is that you need to drop that down and focus on playing together and getting in sync. It shouldn't take you a half of football to remember how to play together.
I try not to criticise Bobo, but you can bet your bottom dollar on second down, whether its second and 1 or second and 9, you're gonna see a handoff to our running back that goes off the left guard's butt. I agree with most of the grades given. Our line play in the first half was atrocious—couldn't stop the run, couldn't contain, no pressure on the QB. Poor Gunner—I bet he's sore today. Our very porous offensive line let Auburn beat him up all night. Love the Heart and determination shown in the second half—where was that when the game started? Thank goodness our LBs played well—many times they were our only hope.
This ream has multiple personalities. Perhaps they should be graded by quarters. Both offense and defense get solid F for first quarter last night. Second quarter the D gets a B- while O gets a C+ because of going 88 yards for the FG. Third quarter the D gets an A. O gets a B. Fourth quarter D gets an A and O gets an A. That 8 minute 45 second drive to seal the win was special.
The refs get solid F’s for the entire game. They’re simply incompetent.
First 28 minutes grade: F
Last 32 minutes grade: A
Go Dawgs!
A "B" for Gunner. He is one tough QB. He was supposed to gain a first down and literally flies full body through space into the end zone…that is GRIT. It's that farm boy in him. He may not be flashy, but he is one heck of a baller!!!
The 1st half was dreadful - the offense couldn't get anything going again and the defense could not get a stop ( AUB 14 plays, 75 yds 7:21 clock, 12 plays 70 yds 5:32 clock ). Then AUB goes15 plays, 79 yds, eating another 7:55 until the fumble recovery at the goal line. So up to that point there's no way to give any positive grades.
Moving the ball and getting the FG was bigtime after the turnover. Changed momentum.
The 2nd half was impressive. Glad they pulled it out. But this is another game where getting behind by a couple of scores and having to overcome may be too much next time - Ole Miss comes to mind. Overall grade C.
All wins are good wins - never seen/experienced a bad one.
A+ for the win!
Thinks the grader needs to start being graded.
Once again extremely slow start by the offense and defense. THis year's team really tests my patience. We can't keep playing just half a game and expect to go far in the playoffs.
”Just win baby” ….pretty sure the ‘80 team would have driven most nuts here.
Just win & everything else takes care of itself.
