Then starting safety Kyron Jones suffered a foot injury this week, knocking him out indefinitely. Jones started all six games for Georgia this season and was fourth on the team in tackles. He had a key fumble recovery in the win over Auburn last week.

I hate to hear this for Kyron. Hopefully the DL can become a greater force (just 6 TFL so far this season?) and combine with a good run game on offense. I'll add here that Ole Miss has amazingly played just one road game to this point, at Kentucky 30-23, if I'm reading the schedule right. I'd say the crowd noise could have more impact than normal for the seventh game of the season, and that will be critical if the Dawgs are going to put a crooked number in the Ole Miss loss column.

If WA St. could play them as close as they did in Ole Miss house our Dawgs should be able to do Better in Sanford Stadium. Go Dawgs !! Sic ‘Em !!

Wash state only got close because Kiffin was game planning for us. I keep saying it over and over, if you watch the people who breakdown the game play by play, we are really not good execution wise. Not just the freshmen. The drag routes over the middle have worked against us for three games in a row. Even jet sweeps by auburn weren't picked up by the outside backer, and he's a junior. Not just once. Lane knows he has a huge opportunity if his kids can handle the environment. This will be close. In some ways, I wish they could simplify the concepts for the O line, but I know our enemies are expecting it.

" The Ferris State transfer has thrown for 1,286 yards, rushed for another 281 and accounted for 10 touchdowns. Pretty impressive for a quarterback Ole Miss found at the Division II level."

Yep, D-II QB Chambliss ranks #18 in the country in passing efficiency (Stockton ranks #60). The guy can make some plays. Our young CBs and Safeties will be tested. Hope Kyron gets back on the field before the end of the season, but it doesn't sound promising.

    GO DAWGS!

You people realize that Ole Miss has played Arky and Kentucky and an overrated LSU team right? Calm down, the Dawgs have this one. They barely beat all three, including Washington St. I don't care what they say about Lane's plans for future games., they have played ALL of their games close, and the teams they played close ain't as good as the ones the Dawgs played close. 31-21 Dawgs.

I honestly just want to see us start well and look like we're prepared & well-coached the whole game. I want to see the team I know we can be. If we are that team, I obviously think we'll win. But, if we play well and Ole Miss still beat us, then hats off to them.

The secondary play concerns me but what really bothers me is the lack of containment that our defense has shown. I’m no Coach but after rewatching the Auburn game I think AU did us a big favor by seemingly going away from those runs in the second half. Maybe we adjusted somewhat and they decided not to try it but those runs, especially by a mobile qb, have hurt us constantly all this year. I’m hopeful but with half of the season behind us I don’t realistically expect it to get drastically better. Sure hope I’m wrong.
