"Here’s a look at the projected CFP field as of the games played on Nov. 1:"

@MikeGriffith Which poll are these projections based on? I haven't seen any that have Indiana as the #1 seed.

    GO DAWGS!

Im with you, if Indiana makes the conference title game, I just dont see Indiana beating Ohio State. They havent played a team of Ohio State's caliber all season, and it will show. So, I dont think they will be the #1 seed either.

Not in the SECC and (hopefully) staying at rank 5 is actually a blessing. Get to rest up a bit and then play a practice game against the group of 5 winner to shake off the rust before tougher competition.

Indiana and Ohio State have embarrassingly easy schedules. The only significant win for Indiana was at Oregon and Ohio State won by 7 at home in the opening week of the season against Texas. I looked at the statistics of the Texas game and the Longhorns appeared to have statistically dominated eventhough it’s only the score that counts. I’m still not convinced Indiana and OS are the top 2 teams, but that’s why we have playoffs. I think if we win our last 3 games we could easily slip into the top 4 since the teams ahead of us will likely meet in conference championship games. Personally, I won’t be upset if we miss out on the SEC CG…..especially if we make the top 4. Last year the conference champs received first round byes and all lost in the playoffs so it’s definitely not necessary to win your conference to win the grand prize. Go Dawgs!!!

Not a given whatsoever. Mississippi State is no push over, Texas is playing their best ball of the season and Tech would like nothing better than to derail the Dawgs. Playoff shuffling is fun but won't matter much if we come up short in any of these.

@GoodOlDawg — My projection…. In this projection, Indiana and OSU win out, Indiana beats Ohio State in Big Ten title game

If Ohio State wins — presuming OSU ends 4-game losing streak to UM — flip-flop Indiana and OSU.

I also have A&M beating Bama in SEC title game—lotsa time for that scenario to change, too….

But you have to start somewhere, and this is what I think at this moment.

First CFP rankings will be interesting and are guaranteed to have some twists.

It will be interesting how much weight this committee gives SOS. There doesn't appear to be many recusal possibilities, if any. Evans was allowed to keep his $100K bonus and the red panties when he resigned from UGA, that's one vote we can count on.

@MikeGriffith I appreciate the clarification. I was surprised to see IU at the top, but based on their schedule I think they will get their shot at Ohio State in the conference championship as an undefeated team.

@MikeGriffith and anyone else who wants to chime-in. Let’s assume the top 5 teams (UGA at #5) all win out as expected and A&M beats #4 Bama in the SEC CG. Do you guys think UGA would jump a 2 loss Bama team into the #4 slot? True Bama beat us, but they also had their heads given to them on a platter by FSU (31-17), a team that is struggling to be bowl eligible with a 4-4 record (1-4 in the ACC). Go Dawgs!!!

@BubbaBill Based on last year, no, they won't penalize teams for playing in their respective league champ games
