BAMA in fact did have Saban's refs, they played that LSU game at Bryant Denny - hence the 10 to frgn 2 disparity in called penalties. Bama holds on every play and yet…1 defensive penalty in that game. Disgusting how coddled they still are even tho Nicky is gone…
navydawg, I agree wholeheartedly with your take, if the Dawgs can't beat tejas, they have no business in playoff, but like you I think them Dawgs handle business!
The Zebras are my biggest concern. People say oh there’s no such thing as the Refs trying to influence games. Well This year showed in particular that either they Are trying to influence or don’t know their job, one of the two. I’m Not saying in all cases or even most cases But it Does happen. A Bama defender Slammed an LSU player very late out of bounds Zebra right there seeing it, No flag !! Why ? You can bet if it were the other team other than Bama THAT team would be flagged !!
OFF TOPIC !! West Laurens HS plays their first playoff game this Friday night. I’m hoping Ty Cummings RB will have a banner game and prompt an offer from Kirby and UGA. Kid has 2111 yds. in 10 games averaging close to 13 yds per carry and 19 TDs.
Holds the state record for most yds and TDs in a single game: 617 yds. and 8 TDs !! It could be said must have been a weak defense, and perhaps that’s so, but think about the number of carries !!
He broke off some big runs against a very good defense in their last regular season game as well. He makes me think of Trindon Holliday at LSU a few years back except he has two inches more height and weighs about 15 pounds more than Holliday.
Hes played a smidgen of QB and does kick and punt returns also has caught the ball some on pass plays. He’d make a nice Scar Back addition for UGA hiding behind the big O Line guys then Zoom gone !!
I hope Napier was doing more than just dropping by. Hopefully he was sharing some of the things he saw in TX and schemed into his game plan that helped FU beat TX.
