Tech will be hobbling into Mercedes-Benz Friday. The Pitt game was brutal. Terrible loss for Tech. UGA should be in great shape to take them on.

Couldn't agree more, Pitt's defense hounded King, and the offense all night, and he took a lot of hard shots. He may still be feeling the effects of those hits come Friday. That may be a slight advantage for the DAWGS defense.

so if A&M loses how does that put the dawgs in? Both have will have a 1 loss conference

I believe it becomes record against shared opponents and then cumulative conference winning percentage of opponents. UGA beat Texas, so if A&M loses to Texas, it's UGA in the SECCG

Common opponents, and strength of SEC wins..a&m has wins against weaker SEC teams, with 1 SEC win against ranked Missouri, and 1 against a ranked ND team vs the SEC wins UGA has. A&M has played several bottom tier SEC teams while UGA has beat 3 ranked SEC teams..Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Texas.

ATm probably beats TX. Though Arch has been playing like a Heisman winner in the last 4 games (sans UGA). All of these rankings go up in smoke when AL takes aTm in the SECCG.

Not trying to chest thump but I had a feeling Pitt could sneak a W ( key word sneak) and said so on here well before the game. BUT I had no inkling they would curb stomp GT like they did !! Even with the tough try to come back Pitt still curb stomped them !! GT looked broken at the end of that game !!

Before they played I looked at who each had played and saw that Pitt beat Boston College by a very solid score where as GT barely slid by them. Also Pitt beat NC St. by a very solid score where as GT lost pretty bad to them. So I thought it’d be a War and there was a distinct possibility that Pitt could barely slide by but I figured GT would get the W. Boy was I Wrong !! Pitt curb stomped them !!

Dawgs Sure Better Win this game as a loss would be supremely embarrassing and might well drop us out of the playoffs. Rivalry or not if our Dawgs come to play they Should beat the Bugs. GT has now shown with their losses to NC St. and Pitt that they are not that good !! I don’t know the final score but Dawgs win by 17 points !! Go Dawgs !!

And now for my **** question of the week !! So if TAMU beats TX and Bama beats Auburn then our Dawgs are out of the SECCG all together right ? I’d Love for our Dawgs to play Bama in it and Beat them.

But if there’s ever a year to miss being in the SECCG it’s This year. In terms of National Title hopes which are Very realistic now, playing in the SECCG could hurt us more than help us !! Go Dawgs !!

Admittedly, I don’t understand all the tie breakers re getting into the SEC Championship game, but I do understand that if either A&M or Bama loose, we’re in. I get and understand that much. However, I have no clue as to how Vandy beating KY has anything to do with the formula. Mike apparently does. A SHORT explanation would be worth reading. A LONG one would not be worth reading. I’m assuming it somehow makes our SOS a little weaker, but A&M’s SOS is still weaker than our’s, especially in conference.

Finally, if we can’t run the football against that Tech D, we need to be playing in the Sun Bowl.

SOS is not really an accurate term for the SEC tie breaker. I think when CFP talks about SOS they consider opponents’ opponents. Uga beat fla, fla beat Texas so UGA SOS gets a bump. For the SECCG fourth level tiebreaker (used in this case, for multi-team ties) it’s the teams’ foes’ SEC conference record. The result of the vandy/ky games assures bama foes to have the best W/L, between them, UGA, ole miss, and aTm (if they lose to Texas). aTm (with a loss) and ole miss are both well below UGA for second best. Hence, an aTm loss puts bama and uga in the game.
