If he's true to his word….can't blame him for baling on no coach P-State…he'll be 300 miles closer to home….speaking of NO Coach teams…..what about ole Shadarius and The War Eagle, Tiger, Plainsmen??? I also note that Bamalama was hot for Elijah….."crazy rumor of the day sez that P-State is willing to make Kalen DaBore the richest coach in college football"….if that happens will Mr Littlejohn rethink his flip?????

Welcome home! Now we cross fingers as to how sold he really is. Really stinks Bama passed us. We can't beat them at anything! 😕

Did I read this correctly, “85 sacks”?!?!? Good grief…..that’s insane or maybe we are missing a decimal place.
Go Dawgs and welcome home Elijah!!!

I am astonished that AL continues to recruit at Saban levels with their current staff. Should AL lose to aTm in the SECCG there is a good chance they miss the playoffs again this season. AL is not AL w/o Saban.

I think the Transfer Portal option...and, NIL money have a lot to do with that. Gives em a better peace-of-mind with the commitment.

Imo....Lack of good coaching and unrealistic fan-expectations will bring it crashing down, soon enough. NIL money will keep the "talent" coming for a while....but, you CAN'T win on talent, alone....anymore.

After The Bear, and Ray Perkins....they dropped off pretty quick [best of my memory]. And, it took a decade and a half, before they found Saban and recovered. Or, Saban found them and Kirby Smart. Lol

With NIL and a free agent market....all you need is a Great Coach. And, there just aren't that many. That's why I'm so thankful....UGA got out in front of this thing....by WINNING before free agency.

@UGADad20...I'm not surprised at all. DeBoer is an elite HC, and his players love him. From what I have read, he has his own football culture that he has brought in and the program has evolved even more since Nick left. And remember, Saban recruited top classes every year while cycling through assistant coaches every single year. Yet, he didn't skip a beat. It didn't matter who the OC or DC was- Saban would win and continue to recruit the best players anyway. Simply remarkable.

Imo....Deboer is an excellent HC....but, Not "elite". He has potential to be elite, as long as he's at Bama and WINS. But, that remains to be seen.

It may be just me....but....Deboer just seems out of place in Tuscaloosa. They still haven't fully embraced him as Head Coach. The fans seem to view him as a placeholder....whether they "say it" or not. Lol

There are only 1 or 2 guys, like Saban & Smart, around today. I once thought Lanning may be one of em....but, now, idk. Lol

Smart and Saban had the advantage of building their Programs, during the Recruiting Wars....pre-NIL/TP. It would be virtually impossible to do that today.

Imo....Kirby "maintained" his program better than Saban after the NIL/TP Wars started. That's what decimated Saban's program and he knew he wouldn't be able to maintain it....to HIS standard....with the Asst Coaches available.

He also knew, what Pollack was saying, after the '22 Natty....was TRUE. Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs, have taken over CFB.

Yeah....they didn't Natty out, in '23 or '24. But, they are still "The Program", everybody else measures themselves against. And, the '21 Defense is still the best post-NIL/TP Defense....though, it was built through recruiting....not NIL/TP.

That says something about teams built through the portal....imo.
