"With losses by Florida and Kentucky, there is no mathematical way for Georgia to finish with a better conference opponent winning percentage than Alabama."
The "conference opponent winning percentage" was never going to be the tie-breaker between UGA and Alabama. The head-to-head results would be the deciding factor. Since there is little chance for Auburn to hand Alabama their 2nd conference loss, UGA's focus for making the SECCG is primarily on Texas vs. Texas A&M, where a Texas victory will put UGA in a conference-record tie with Texas A&M. Because there are no head-to-head results, the "conference opponent winning percentage" would be the deciding factor. UGA would get the nod in that situation for a spot in the SECCG.
I'm unhappy with Georgia Tech - they should have put up a better game. I hope the dawgs pound them like never before. Style points matter for the playoff selection committee. The SEC championship is made irrelevant by the playoff, so I don't care about the game. Better UGA miss two ballgames than play in that Championship. I know Kirby feels differently. I'm sure he's paid to feel differently.
My question is: what is the projected return date for CJ Allen?
Winner: UGA's senior class - with a resume few groups in program history can match: a 49-5 record, a 25-1 home record, a national title in 2022 and SEC championships in 2022 and 2024.
Twenty-nine players took part in the Senior Day walk, including receiver Noah Thomas, tight end Oscar Delp, receiver Colbie Young, defensive back Daylen Everette, receiver Dillon Bell and punter Brett Thorson.
In particular had the opportunity to watch Oscar at West Forsyth High years back, best of luck at the next level.
Loser: North Avenue Trade School - everything on the line regarding the ACC Conference Championship and Tech loses to an average Pitt team at home in front of a sold out crowd. Can't make this stuff up. The Bugs over the past three games have given up an average of 41.3 points while losing two of three. Won't be any better after Turkey day.
“I’ve seen him grow just from a maturity standpoint, especially he’s understanding, like, the game better, even how to play the position better,” cornerback Daylen Everette said of Robinson.
Earlier this season I assumed that we would probably see an improved version of Ellis Robinson in the 2026 season. I am amazed at the level of improvement that he has shown over the last couple of weeks! After so many weeks of seeing opponents game planning to throw at that side of the field, he has stepped up and appears to have taken that away as an easy completion (or PI). This is a welcome development for the Dawgs secondary and I'm hoping that it catches on for some of the others who are yet to reach their full potential.
GO DAWGS!
@BigFan CJ is day to day,in other words we don't have a projected return day. It won't be until a bowl game, if then. I would think he woulkd be able to play by then That's a month away. (seeing that it doesn't look like we'll play in the SECC game).
I'm very old school. I want the Dawgs to play in the SECCG and win it convincingly. I hope we get the help we need to get there.
I don't know enough about Texas or Texas A&M, so I won't comment on that match-up.
I do know a thing or two about Alabama and Auburn. An Alabama loss at Auburn is a real possibility. I've noticed over the years that no matter how poorly Auburn is doing, those kids won't blink vs. Alabama. Especially at home. Those kids hate Alabama as much as we do. So, this Saturday I'll be an Auburn fan, even though I might have to throw up.
Go Dawgs!
The last few weeks have been incredibly enjoyable for Georgia football as our team has seemingly hit their stride. Plus we witnessed the continued decline of fla, albarn, and tech.
I know tech will bring everything they’ve got vs Georgia, but I think our depth and physicality will prevail in the second half.
Go Dawgs! Wreck tech!
Agree 100%! I believe the SEC championship truly reflects the 2 teams most deserving from a tough conference record vs the national playoff pool that reflects way too much politics and other subjective calculations (see ND ranked higher than Miami or Bama). To win the conference you have definitely earned it and not saying winning the NC is easy, but many in the mix shouldn’t even be there.
