ATHENS â Kirby Smart has a lot going on this week. Thereâs the early signing period, the looming transfer portal and the upcoming College Football Playoff.

I appreciate the nod back to what GS did well.
Stockton will have to play better to beat Bama and a lot of that depends on the Oline. Obviously, the concern is Drew Bobo. I’m a big believer that center is the most important position on the Oline, especially when you are facing a really good front with a big bodied NT. The Dawgs have to be able to run the ball.

I Love the Dawgs !! I Love to see them Win !! I Love to see them win Big !! But Even when they lose I Love the Dawgs !! All I’ve ever hoped for and wanted to see was them go out and fight to win ( by fight I mean within the rules) that doesn’t mean they will not make mistakes. That doesn’t mean they will always win though I Much, Much prefer and enjoy them Winning.
If you’ve watched football for a while and some of you here have even played the game, some of you at a beyond HS level, but you (we) can tell when a team is goofing off. It’s easy to tell when a team is making little to no effort. The only times I’ve ever seen that with Kirby’s Dawgs is in a few cupcake games and then only for a short while because he chews them out for that and then they get back to business. Every game is important but when they play a cupcake they Know they can Easily win so they might tend to lose focus and play sloppy for a while. But with Kirby that’s short lived.
Every football team wants to win or maybe I should say most. When playing Kirby and the Dawgs the motivation is Sky High. Teams that play Kirby and his Dawgs are gonna give every ounce they have to win because it is Very Prestigious to be able to say “We beat Kirby Smart and his Dawgs”!! It just is in CFB. Because when you look at his record there’s not many that can say they have.
This year only One team can say that. Hopefully and I have Faith they Can and Will Kirby and his Dawgs ( our Dawgs) are about to get revenge for that one loss in This Much More Important game. What am I saying with all this ? If you are a Dawgs fan and you Love the Dawgs then you should be VERY Proud of them !! That’s ALL of them. And no matter how staunch a Dawgs fan you are NONE of us want to Win More than Kirby and this Team. I know the vs GT wasn’t a great performance. But did Any of us expect GT not to give Their very best ? And let’s face it the 2025 Bugs with Haynes King were and are a pretty dawg gone good team !! With the staff they have ( and some players) No other team in CFB Knows Kirby and the Dawgs better. When next year rolls around Expect to get GT’s very best game of the season as All the previous years !! No other team Hates UGA as much as the Bugs do !!
Now on to the SECCG, I Hope we ( our Dawgs) Win, I Believe they Can, I Believe they Will, but what I want to really see is Their Best Effort. And that doesn’t necessarily mean Mistake Free football. Mistake Free would be Wonderful !! I think what might well have happened vs GT ( I’m almost Sure of it) was they were trying To Hard in particular Gunner. I think He wanted to play Mistake Free football So Bad that he Made mistakes !!
I remember one game Yall help me here was it TN ? That Gunner wasn’t doing to well because he was To Tight and Kirby told him “ Go out there and have Fun !!” and it was like a whole different Gunner came back out there he proceeded to do very well and we won the game !! This young man wants SO BAD to Please his Teammates, His Brothers, Kirby and the staff, His Family, and Us the Fans. He’s a bit of a introvert and if you know people like that they Strive !! Sometimes to the point it damages them mentally and even physically !!
I knew a girl classmate that made All A’s and HonorRoll Every time, No misses. One time she got an A- in just One subject and she broke down and wept bitter tears !! There I was with a C- thinking Uh Hey can we trade ? Gunner with football is like that girl, he Tries TO Hard at times and it causes him to do the opposite !! We wouldn’t be 11-1 without Gunner and He wouldn’t be able to have that record if it wasn’t for the TEAM !! So to end No Matter the result as long as our Dawgs leave it All on the field Win or Lose we should be Proud of them in This game and in the Playoff games. I can remember the times we just hoped for a decent bowl game !! Keep Chopping !! Go Dawgs !! Ain’t it great to be an UGA Dawgs fan ? 😀
Kirby is dealing with the upcoming portal now as well as the team into next Sat. UGA needs to settle…and keep focused on Bama. The Dawgs, I feel, will emerge victors! I truly believe they will win. I will admit I do a lot of praying…I know team members do, especially Gunner. Let's rally round our boys and win this one!!!
As I’ve told you before I always appreciate your comments !! And that’s true of this one to. I’m all in with you I to believe our beloved Dawgs will win this time. I tell you I’m Believing these Dawgs are gonna win the SECCG and the National Title !! It won’t be easy at all and us fans will probably chew our fingernails off and pull out our hair !! Mines getting thinner on top so I hate to pull out much but if that’ll help win I’ll do it !! Nothing wrong that I see in praying for our boys, especially for no injuries. I think when it’s all settled and done these young Dawgs will have Two trophies. But I know me and you are alike we’d Much, Much prefer they win but even if they don’t we’re Still Gonna Love Our Dawgs !!! It’s Great To Be A Dawgs Fan !!
Just for info. as I know size isn’t everything but Drew Bobo is 6’5” weighs 305 Malachi Tolliver is also 6’5” and weighs 320. Someone a tad smaller height and weight than Drew I don’t think would make much difference but you wouldn’t want some one Allot smaller but Allot bigger could make them slower. Tolliver has good size but alas he doesn’t have near the experience as Drew. Just gonna have to ramp up his game best he can.
Least he’ll be fresh and not battle weary from 12 full games ( he did play part of vs Charlotte and the second half vs GT) as hard as Kirby practices his players perhaps endurance won’t be a problem. You know this is one of those times we should be thankful for Kirby pushing so hard in practice because with less Tolliver might be gassed long before the game is over so to me that’s a bit of a bright spot.
Gonna miss Drew though and sure hope he’s back when the playoffs roll around. The rumor mill doesn’t sound good at all though. Guess Kirby will give the full picture sometime soon.
News Flash !!’ Mark Stoops has been fired at KY !! Kirby is now the longest tenured coach in the SEC !! Per Rivals !!If I'm Kirby Smart (and all Dawg fans should be thankful that I'm not!), I'm on the phone with Mark Stoops trying to hire him as an analyst. Always thought Stoops was a good coach.
Another chance to see if CMB can come up with a good plan on helping his baby center out and come up with somehing where we can get receivers open and have the time to get the pass off. Short quick strikes. THrow out the razzle dazzle double reverse stuff. BAMA will make Stockton beat them and play press coverage. Auburn proved you can throw against BAMA if you have a mobile QB and have a decent scheme (routes).
I say we need 24 to win. Hope the defense continues it's good play. Bama's a much better passing team than GT. We've been limiting explosive plays. we must continue that trend.
