OK, now we can move on! Go DAWGS!
I guess I was wrong on his integrity. When you commit twice you hurt a program because they quit recruiting other players. I’m disappointed because I believed he was a man of his word. Dang, and I thought I was a good judge of character. Go Dawgs and next man up!!!
Best of luck but Georgia will be just fine .
THe best news out of the bad news is he didn't commit to a team that can win the SEC or a Natty. Pavia types that can put the team on their shoulders don't grow on trees. Not saying he can't be a really good SEC QB.
Hope he starts when we play Vandy next year.
No real surprise here. But will he be any good when it comes to starting on Day 1? So many guys have been duds, so you just never know without development, so he is going to have to grow up fast. But, glad to see it for Vandy. We've got plenty of QBs in the room right now.
Just for your knowledge from an Athletic article today…how much do these high school recruits get in NIL and revenue sharing deals?
" Similar to their college and pro counterparts, Power 4 quarterback recruits are often the highest-paid among their peers.
The baseline rate for a Power 4 QB signee starts between roughly $100,000 to $300,000, according to a P4 personnel staffer, but that number rises the higher the recruit is ranked. Five-star quarterbacks typically get between $750,000 and $1 million annually, according to three industry sources.
If a quarterback isn’t going to start in Year 1, it can impact the first-year compensation. The agent said one 2026 QB who ranks in the top 150 nationally is receiving between $300,000 and $400,000 in his first year since he’s not expected to start immediately at his committed school.
Offensive and defensive linemen also attract big offers. Again, it can be a sliding scale depending on how developed their bodies are.
“If you’re talking about a developmental player it could be $100,000 to $400,000-$500,000 (for offensive linemen),” the Power 4 personnel staffer said. Defensive linemen are “similar to the O-linemen, but a little less for edge rushers than you’d think.”
Again, five-star prospects receive higher compensation. Miami offensive tackle commit Jackson Cantwell, the No. 1 player at his position, is expected to receive more than $2 million in 2026, according to On3. Texas Tech this summer landed a commitment from Felix Ojo, the No. 2 offensive tackle in the country, with a three-year deal that will pay him $775,000 annually, per a school source.
Running backs, tight ends and safeties fall into the third tier of compensation. The range for those positions starts around the mid-to-high five figures and goes up to the low six figures, around $200,000. As with other positions, elite players who are at the very top of their position can be outliers and command much more. "
The Athletic
If it's true and If it's because he wants to play right away, then I would be very glad for him to head to Vandy. Assuming this is true, he isn't the kind of teammate that wins championships. With Carson Beck, we had the super arm, but he only cared about himself. Beck will never win anything of meaning. People never sacrifice for that individual. So, if it's true, then his alleged decision to go to Vandy is a huge win for UGA.
let’s take his money and buy some linemen on both sides.
From recent NCAA history, TP QB's are a more sure thing than signing a 5 star QB.
Hey, if he can start at Vandy without waiting then go for it, can’t fault that and playing at home also. If I remember correctly we won 2 nattys with a backup walk on. This is why I don’t get excited about committed that don’t sign. If Vandy had been a bust this year he stays with Georgia. We never had much success with high profile 5 star QBs lol. Just don’t stand there and say I’m all in with one program and then flip to another.
I'm sorry, but I'm pissed. The kid waits until one day before signing to drop this bombshell. Now UGA has to scramble to find a QB for this upcoming signing class. He wasn't flipped in the last few days. He's known this for at least since he made the unofficial visit to Vandy back in October (I think). He's known for a long time that he would not start at UGA for a couple of years and that Vandy offered a quicker path to starting.
AMF! Vandy has Pavia and he is a 5-star gamer! This kid won't carry Vandy like that! So, me and the rest of the grownups are moving on! Go DAWGS!
Best of luck to you buddy. Let me know how that works out for you. Better yet I'll see it. No offensive line.... Should've used the Raiola kid as an example. But hey they say experience sometimes is the best teacher. Again, Best of luck to you!
Not the worst news. That frees up a lot of $ to flip other players. Especially with the depth of the current QB room. Never count on future QB commits until they are actually in the locker room.
Better to not have him. Perepitatic players are poison.
