The Dawgs are a victim of their own success when it comes to recruiting and keeping "5-star" QBs. Most of the kids who are highly rated are going to want to play immediately, and KS recruits to keep highly rated backups in the program. I understand Curtis is confident in his abilities, but he's not coming to UGA and starting over Puglisi and Montgomery as a true freshman - not to mention GS will probably return. KS has shown that he values a QB who can process large amounts of information and put the offense in the "right play" more than physical ability alone. While he'll play highly talented freshmen at other positions and let them learn on the job, he wants the QB to learn in practice and handle the volume of information and decision-making when he steps on the field.

Yeah if we need a QB in a couple of years Curtis will likely be available. But no way in hell. Well maybe if he played for free. Maybe.

He's had 2 chances to be a DAWG now but chose not to be. So if he flips and transfers in 2 years, dont think im gonna come a calling if you do, I won't waste another minute of my time recruiting you, won't be happening. Don't care if you're the #1 HS players or the 347th player, im done with ya.

If Lea is any kind of coach, he already has or will get a QB or two from the TP. Does this kid not realize this? It's not a guarantee that he will start day one. Fine with me, go to Vandy and not even come close to sniffing a championship. This is why I don't get caught up in recruits until they sign.

TThese Kids just use their " commitment" to Georia to lure higher bids from other interested schools. Just like coaches go to interviews to get better contracts. It's a total corruption of what college football is supposed to be. Let's just do away with the whole college football illusion and let the NFL run a class A, AA, AAA training league like baseball does. We're just living a lie. The college game is dead.

I was hoping for this to be honest. He's another Raiola who wants to be coddled instead of challenged. Any kid that doesn't want to play for Kirby, he's not a kid I want at UGA… It doesn't matter how many stars they get from little prep schools. We're better off not having him here for a year and then him transferring out. He's a 'dore not a Dawg. Take that cash and use it on the edge.

I'll tell you what it means - almost nothing. UGA has 4 QB's right now, ready to go. If Bobo thought he would need another one, he would go get it from the portal. How many alleged five stars qb's have we seen flame out. One that comes to mind doesn't even play football anymore. Another one got beat out by Stetson Bennett, left for another school, got beat out there and is out of the game. Those are UGA guys. Don't even need to mention the one at Texas, who looks like a deer in your headlights. The portal changed everything. Throwing big money at unproven 18 year old's is a waste of time.

We've got years of great quarterback talent ahead. I'll bet Gunner will be back next season for several reasons…#1 being his love and loyalty to the team (DGD).

Ryan P. has been patient, as he learns the system and gains experience . I'm sure he realizes that he could be one play away from 1st team. Arch would be in the next portal with the same circumstances.

Ryan M. has all the attributes we'll need for the future.

Let the primadonnas fall by the wayside, like Raiola and Manning. We want a guy who is willing to work for the starting slot!

    Go Dawgs!!!

As of right now, Dawgs have dropped in the 247 2026 Recruiting Rankings to #6 with only (1) 5-star recruit now (unsure if that ranking includes a Curtis flip or not). USC, Bama (Four 5-stars), Notre Dame (Four 5-stars), Oregon (Four 5-stars), and Ohio State making up the Top 5.

I think Gunner will return next season, and that would be a good thing. Our QB room is pretty full, but whether or not it has a stud like Julian Sayin or Fernando Mendoza in it is anybody's guess…

The question I have is if a talented player landed at UGA is he given the opportunity to win the job. That should be the question asked, Kids don't want to automatically sit if they think they are good enough. Fortunately for UGA, the team does not have to submit to theat trial and error football. Raiola decommitted and went to Nebraska look what that got him. He will never win there no matter how good he is. Winning may not be high on the list of these kids. I am like Kirby. I worry about the kids that make the team and want to be here.

I wouldn't count on Jayden Wade actually coming to UGA, it's at least a year away and as we've seen with our 2 most recent 5* QB commits they can flip even at the 11th hour.

Maybe the best approach is NOT recruit these "5*" guys (thereby not letting them use UGA only as leverage), develop from within (as we are), and sign one out of the portal if you do need a QB (Will Howard as Ohio State, Mendoza at IN both seem to have worked well).

UGA has the leverage these days and I think we should be clear that a small HS QB (& similar) who's proven nothing isn't going to even sniff an offer from UGA. Other talented QB's will still be lining up to come here.
