I'm afraid "commitments" and signing day mean little to nothing. Alot of these kids will not stick it out, or will jump ship at the first smell of a better bag from another school. The whole college game has become a mafia run operation, corrupted by agents and donors. It's sickening.

    Sure is.

Interesting that most of the so called media and football "experts" were lobbying for Kiffin to be able to coach Ole Miss through the playoffs.

Why would they take that position?

What do some of the network talking heads and Kiffin have in common?

    Think about it.

All this crying about dropping from 2nd to 6th in 247Comp rankings and the decline of the Kirby Smart recruitment Machine is ridiculous…from the Gramster “Bet you didn’t know” file…of the 5 schools with higher ranked classes…absolutely ZERO of them have a Punter and a Kicker in their signing classes. The highest ranking a P/K is given in the rankings algorithm is low 3 star status, even though both of UGa’s signees are Top 3 (5*) in the kicker rankings…so don’t feel to bad for UGa…they are still getting close to 10% of the Top100 247 comp talent, we’ll be fine. Go dawgs…

So The Dawgs dropped from #2 class to #6…..If 5 star Ogboko is the #4 player in NC, how is it that Dean the #6 player in NC is not a 5 star, How is it that Prothro the #5 player in GA and Fitzpatrick the #3 player in FL aren't 5 stars….Sone, #4 in Virginia and the absolute indefensible ranking error….IMHO, Zureikat, the hands down best kicker in years is only a 3 star….when it's all said and done, Mr Z will have scored more collegiate football points than 95% of all other players in America!

I'll gladly take these guys….the #6 class and bet more than half will be "5 Stars" in a year!

Like I said before, don’t fret the team rankings too much, of the 5 schools with higher ranked classes…absolutely ZERO of them have a Punter and a Kicker in their signing classes. Even though both are top in their position the247comp only credits low 3 star points. We’ll be fine…

Having Kiffin continue to coach creates a story line that the talking heads can talk endlessly about. There will also be people that think that he got his team this far so he DESERVES to coach out the season. Neither of those scenarios benefit MS>

Kiffin had to go after he made the decision. He has already poached 2 MS commits in the 1 day he has been HC of LSU. He is allowed to finish the season and shows well that enhances his ability to recruit (against MS) and his personal resume. It was all win win for Kiffin.

@GtheGreek HS ratings/rankings are based on the NFL potential of the young men in each class to develop into high draft choices. Seems kind of backward to me. Like maybe they should be rated based on potential CFB production.

Since there are only 32 NFL teams there are typically around 30 or so "5* recruits". P's and K's are never taken in the 1st rd so they are never rated 5*. That is why someone like GS dropped in his HS ranking despite an impressive HS career. He just wasn't judged to have the physical tools to be a top NFL draft pick.

Nope, not about the storyline with Kiffin?

    Anyone else?

You know I’ve never understood Vanderbilt’s cheer of Anchor Down. On a ship the anchor is used to stabilize the ship in one place as best possible. Though there are numerous factors I won’t go into that will cause the ship to move some even with Both anchors down.

Usually there’s a port side anchor and a starboard side anchor on the larger ships, some even have an aft anchor. But that’s like cheering We want to stay right here !! Yaay !! Like not moving up in the score. Or not moving up in the rankings.

I guess it means stability. So the cheer is like Stability Yaay !! 🤪
