Since Gunner isnt in the group of 4 finalist, gotta pull for Pavia to win it, definitely wont be pulling for any of the other 3 to win it..GoDAWGS!

Sorry but Pavia is the least likeable of the 4 and exudes arrogance. Yes he is a good football player but there are much more deserving names.

Stockton performance against top teams speaks for itself. His game against Texas was a Heisman highlight reel. Most likely the award will go to Mendoza with the win over Ohio State. Pavia lost to both contending teams he faced.

@dare2554: Yep, Pavia is a showboat, not my style. But seeing/hearing Mendoza after their win… man, that was some frenetic energy, a little of which goes a long way for me. Give me instead Gunner's humble, less-is-more, under-the-radar, steady, happy, grateful, awe-shucks, yet quietly intense/competitive personality any day. Go Dawgs!

As deserving as Pavia's stats might be for the Heisman, I would prefer that his school NOT have that honor this season considering the "unnamed individual" headed there to play QB in 2026 - let's consign him to anonymity from this day forward

And when Gunner helps his Brother Dawgs bring home that National Championship Trophy it will mean Far more to Him, Them, Kirby, and Us than the Heisman !!

Numerous times when we really, really, badly needed a first down Gunner came through. And Much of that at the expense of his body being absolutely brutalized. I’ve cringed so many times at some of the hits this young man took !! On many I thought to myself well there goes Gunner’s season, but Nope he just quickly pops back up from the ground.

One of the many reasons his Brother Dawgs love him so much !! They look at him and say Hey if HE’s willing to give it All then I’m willing to give it All. Gunner is The Man I’d want by me in combat I don’t know any higher praise to offer.

Concerning Mendoza, I believe his interview was humble in a very different sort of way. If you watch it, you will see he never talks about himself but gives all the credit he is to God. The more I read about Mendoza and his life and background, the more I really root for him and if Georgia can't win it all, I would be happy to see him and the Hoosiers win it all.

It's so amazing to read all these comments (the vast majority with which I agree) and remember how worried so many folks were earlier this year about whether or not Gunner could cut the mustard and bemoaning the fact Carson was not returning...

    … I like where we've ended up 😁

I said before the season started how pleasing it was to know that Beck was leaving and Gunner, a true leader and the kind of QB players want to be in the huddle with, would be our QB this year. He has been even better than expected. He’s the epitome of a DGD!

But, more importantly, Gunner is all about team first. While he doesn’t have the gaudy numbers necessary to win the Heisman, if the ward was really about who’s the best football player, leader, most valuable to his team’s success, etc., Gunner would be a finalist. But that’s not what the Heisman is about these days. Arguably, the last player like Gunner to win the Heisman was Tim Tebow. Tebow wasn’t a great QB, but he was a leader every coach dreams about. So is Gunner.

Finally, Gunner doesn’t care about the Heisman. He cares about his team, his school, the fans, and winning football games. In the overall scheme of things, I prefer Gunner over the Diego Pavia’s of the world.
